Hey Guys, currently sitting just outside top 1000 overall, haven't used any trades (having Curnow from start the key reason) but I'm finding it very tempting to make my first trip to market:

Broughton ----> Suckling

Matera ----> Prestia

I wouldn't normally consider making such sideways plays but I don't like Broughton's role this year and I feel after watching Prestia he's too good to pass up as a high scoring cash cow for future upgrades. Also i have no money in bank and this trade would net me around 60k. Really wanting to crack top 500 this year...

Thoughts? Seem viable? cheers.

Flame

I like the Prestia one..not as sure on the other one.

I'm tempted to do the Matera > Prestia one too, but that would only leave me with $300 in the bank.  :-\

I'm considering Duffield -> Suckling, so I'd definately be selling Broughton if I had him. Do you have Adcock though? Pick him infront of Suckling, but both are good. Well done on the start.

Flame - do you think Suckling will average 80 playing all season? Surely he's underpriced by 100k at the moment?

thanks Andrew   ;)

-I would just do just the Prestia/Matera trade but can't afford it (this is making Suckling play all the more appealing)

-I don't have Adcock but with his injury history, I'm pretty satisfied to just let that boat sail.

- The third option would be doing a full downgrade of Broughton to say, Brodie Smith and creating a stack of cash for future upgrades.. hmmmm

any ideas?

Those trades seem a bit dodgy..

I had Suckling last year and he sucked big time in his limited games....

Both trades look bad, broughton to adcock is a good move. If you want to do well than you need to take risks. PLus its beter to take a risk on a proven scorer with injury risks, than a player who the risk is will he score. In scenraio 1 at least you can just trade them out and they should be worth quite a bit. In scenrario 2 you might have them rotting on your field all season.

agree with holzman. im not sold on prestia.
i think adcock is worth the punt, esp if you've made no trades.

a load of folk kicked themselves last year for not getting beau

yorgis

broughton will come good
i have adcock, doing well, but not sure if he'll last the season
if you have'nt used a trade, prestia will come in handy [mpp]

Each post seems to totally juxtapose the next haha.

- Holzman, you make a good point on Suckling and Adcock could well be a better fit but he has the bye this week so I'd have to field another back emergency (already covering for God) and Broughton's price faces another slashing. However if i wait a week then I lose the option of getting in Prestia for Matera (whose DDP could well come in handy when Mzungu is back for a mid downgrade) .... argh!  :o  It's hurting my brain!

- Maybe I just won't trade, allow the Prestia ship to sail (hope matera picks up) and pray that Broughton will eventually turn things around. By then I could be well out of top 500 contention though... :(
