new SC pricing system

So as most of you are figuring out by now, SC has changed their pricing system for 2011.
Due to the new sub rule, I belief that they have changed the system due to the inflated scores which will be on offer in 2011.
As we all know, there are an allocated 3300 points per game (give or take). This has not changed for the past few years.
The same allocation of points per game are still on offer with one refinement, there are now only 42 players competing for those points, not the 44 in the past.
In the past season the average score for a player would be 3300/44=75 (75 per player per game)
This year the game has changed 3300/42=78
However, SC have not followed the usual $5000 per point. Eg 100 average =$500,000
Now the ratio seems to be around 4,480 per point, dropping a massive 11 points.
Getting confused?
Pretty much all I'm saying is that the game is getting harder.
While we thought we were getting bargains at the start of the year eg all players receiving a discount, clearly it was not.
This could have changed many peoples tactics going for the overall (certainly mine) as the rookies now don't represent as much value as in the past thus meaning more mid prices and lower end premiums would have been a higher priority.

Interesting.
Luckily I did walk away with some premiums of the slightly lower class and mid pricers, but I certainly would have stuck with the mid pricer strategy I had if I'd known.
Then again so would everyone else. Hindsight, 'eh?

It is interesting analysis but when I weigh it up, I'm not sure how what you mention would really change my strategy that much. It makes Premiums harder to maintain their value, rookies have slightly less upside and the middle tiers caught somewhere in between.

Between the sub, the bye and MPP I'm glad its all getting more challenging.

really doesnt effect anything because all players are affected, not just the rookies, it hasnt changed a thing.

I thought that the reason for the change in pricing was because a SC team now has 3 extra players (due to a third interchange player in def, mid, fwd- which is due to byes this year) So SC could go one of two ways, increase the initial 10 million dollar sallary cap at the start of the season, or drop the price per point a player scores. Which means at the start of the season players averages from last year were multiplied by 4 thousand and something instead of 5000 making them cheaper. So it doesnt really make a difference because every player is affected and every SC player is in the same position. Although I can understand what was said about cash cows being less valuable because now they wont reach as higher prices they once would have, this is wrong though because every player is affected. It really doesn't change the strategy at all... thoughts?
