Another Curnow Thread, I want him like I want Christmas to Come

I have a midfield of:

Pendles, Swan, Foley, Ward, Libba, Heppell, Irons, Krakouer and Harris...

now I'm going for overall and have 6 out this week, 2 mids, 2 fwds and 2 backs...

I want to get Curnow in and am just not sure who to trade out... Am I the only one who thinks Ward > Curnow is missing too much upside with Ward?

It'd help with this round for overall as I'm going for overall... I'm just not sure

I think he can make at least $300k this year, which would net me $130k at least, which would be a good cash cow, if NOT keeper. I think he can be a good 7th mid come season end if not traded out for $$$

Thoughts anyone? :) ALL input is hugely APPRECIATED :)

EDIT: I have used 2 trades and have $1,000 in the bank. I normally don't do so much early trading but this season has me confused :( haha.

I feel your pain.... I missed the Libba and Curnow boat.

Ward to Curnow sounds the go if you are trying for overall. I don't know how you have already burnt 2 trades without getting Curnow (injuries maybe) but you have too many outs this week to be effective on the scoreboard.

My suggestion is wait till the teams are out and, barring any freak accident, trade in Curnow. He should be ripe for culling Round 8 before the Carlton bye.

Personally I promised myself not to burn any trades until round 5 but am getting killed by the likes of Broughton, Atley, Montagna, Goddard and Otten. Gonna stick to my plan and hope they pick up their act but in your case I say go for it!

Waters (LTI) > Enright
Buckley (dropped) > Libba

I only went Libba over Curnow because I was $3,000 short on Curnow.
In hindsight Waters could have waited a week and I probably should have gone Foley > Curnow and Buckley > Libba.

I just traded in ward last week, so i dont think he is worth taking out. He is averaging around 80 so whats the problem.

heppel, krak and harris should be good cover in the mids. I would think of irons to curnow if you can afford it, but anything else wouldnt even consider it.

I guess Foley is an option.. I could consider Foley > Curnow and Irons > Prestia but that is one trade more than I want to use at this time of the season, can't really see Irons make many more $ though.

if you have too i would go FOLEY to CURNOW as curnow clearly will make you more cash and i don't think the
foley experiment has worked.

Have a look at the teams this week to see if irons survives the cull. if not you could go another trade of IRONS to PRESTIA

Keep ward as he is going ok and can pump out the tons

Irons to Prestia would have to be 2 trades and after re-reading I'm guessing you knew that...

Don't really want to be 4 trades down this early though, man I'm not half the dream teamer I was last year.

That's a real shame you don't have the money to do Irons -> Curnow. I think that's a no brainer of a trade and it's what I'll be doing this week. I watched Irons get subbed off on the weekend, he doesn't look up to AFL standard and I'm sure he'll get dropped this weekend for the Showdown. It's a shame you didn't ditch Foley last week because without the cash, you'll probably have to do so this weekend. Sounds worthwhile for you, but no downgrades anywhere else on the park?

7 Prem backline in

Goddard, Fisher, Gibbs, Enright, Broughton, Deledio and Grimes

and 5 Prem forward line...

Goodes, Franklin, Johnson, Higgins and N. Voldt with Knights and Tapscott, no-one I really see worth downgrading.

No one you see worth downgrading..? Broughton -> Suckling, Adcock, or even Brodie Martin (Adelaide). Any of those 3 would give you the cash you need to do Irons -> Curnow.

Foley is probably worth hopping off that being said, but at least he'll give you a seasons' worth of games and hover around 250k. I don't think Irons will do anything for you (or me) from here on in, and on the matter of Broughton, he doesn't look like scoring a 100 whereas Suckling & Adcock are scoring 100s. I've got Duffield and would say the same thing for him.
