cox should have got alot more hitouts in that game, the roos were playing cruize in the ruck at some point. Im a bit worried about cox becasue eagles are soo bad, they nearly went to a team with no ruck and a 1/3 of its starting team out at home. If lecras is gone for a while than cox will have to carry the whole team.

I'm not worried, they lost 2 runners by half way through the third qtr in 30+ degree heat and beat a team whose midfield should have dominated with extra fresh legs (and more talented ones). Sure Cox could have had a few more hitouts, but I’m glad he didn’t (29 is plenty, especially when swallow is lurking bellow). Only risking injury to our/my star ruckman. He was played full forward for the last qtr because of cramp while Lynch won 18 hitouts on his own back.

Yea the Roos were missing a number of first string players specifically their rucks (in a match where runners mattered more than talls) but the Eagles would have loved to have had McGinnity on Thomas as well as Naitanui, Kerr and Butler.

Not bad IMO.

lol comments like that show you have a pretty poor understanding of footy mate. We all know that one player doesnt carry a team, one player can kick the winning goal, or influence the outcome but it takes 22 blokes to win 4 qtrs.

carrying a team is not supposed to be taken literally, i just meant he is carrying a very large burden, probably more than most players in the league.  Im pretty happy with my understanding of footy, was more trying to take a jab at the eagles seems all my freinds are coast supporters. I actually really like the eagles  and they are won of my favourite teams  and dean is one of my favourite players.  I wa just annoyed at my eagles friends texting me after the game when i made the post

if you want to see me bitter talk to me if freo beats  the roos :) that always hurts

yeah that aswell i was kicking myself when i saw he had 3 goals early on but that all turned around, i feel a bit sorry for him though how unlucky.

Fair enough.. I dont think the burden is that great though. Cox put his all into that game because he wanted the victory. That drive is what makes him a great player. Usually he would have Nic Nat in support and the eagles would have 1 extra player to rotate so the coaches would refrain from running as long as they did tonight.

coxxy would have scored more had he cramped up in the last quarter. he spent almost the whole time up forward, and remember it was 35 degrees

I like that idea J959. I'll have a Corona thanks.

Lucky for me Brownies only in my wife's team. I didn't take him.

I'm very happy with the set & forget rucks of Sandy & Cox. Helped me score 2195.
