Hey everyone

i am thinking about playing two back line rookies........ my backline goes

goddard, gibbs, deleidio, duffield, grimes, hibberd, lower     (toy, duigan, stanley)

is this too weak??

i have duigan and lower starting, lower is played too good in NAB not to start in your def, and so did duigan. I'm starting duigan over otten, though Stanley will come on for duigan after rd 1 :)

i was contemplating 3 rookies at one stage.

I think there are a lot of strategies that will probably lead to the same outcome.

I think with the back line there seems to be a bit more security like in terms of them getting games, especially with the GC guys like stanley and coad.

So you can probably take a punt here if you really desire.

I don't rate backline players. I'd much prefer to have the mid guns straight away, and bring in the backs later. I'm starting 4!!! backline rookies. I think there will be 5 playing in round 1. Plus Hibberd is in the mids so that makes 6. Plus 2 from the GC. I should be able to fill 4 spots with 8 players. There is always downgrade options presenting in the backs through the whole season.

Backline is for the cash cows this year IMO

Jacobs and X.Clarke are 2 perfect downgrade targets so the work is done already. One comes in for Heppell/Hibberd in the mids, and one comes in the back. You'll still have 2 MPP's

Backline has great depth this season. I`d say 2-3 Rookies are necessary.

Im starting two rookies in the backline. I think that all of the positions have a number of players who will be solid cash cows, especially the GC boys.
