Everyone dreads the sideways trade in supercoach. For good reason. But this year there may be an exception to the rule. There is a reasonable chance that one of Harris or Swallow will be good enough to fill your 6th midfield spot for the whole year. Is there any value in this:

1. selecting a rookie who is named for round 1 who you expect to be able to score at an average of 70 for the first 3 rounds.
2. selling them at the end of round 3 for a price rise of about $70,000
3. buying the best performed player out of Swallow and Harris.

You would have had 2 rounds to look at them and decide which one looks the goods. If Swallow is a massive flop then there is going to be some seriously disappointed people. If they both turn out to be duds, then you can just keep your 70 point scoring rookie.

Most people go with the downgrade + upgrade approach with the rooks. But this way you can bring in a keeper using only one trade.
