Hi, you would post your team all you want and having said this are you really going to take on the replies? I say go with what your heart tells you. Otherwise you end up choosing other players based on replies. Then you kick yourself. Best advice I can give about choosing a team is DO NOT over think it. If you love the game you know your players, seniors and rookies alike. Do some reserach yourself and draw your own conclusions.

It's effectively called loving the game and when you are passionate about something you never second guess and you also just know what to do intinctively.

Cheers :)

so, should we shut this forum down?

MissPiesFF

No I do not believe this forum should be shut down. Re-read what I said please.

People should have thought through the merits of every player in picking your DT. Unfortunately, some do not do this.

In my opinion, you should disregard what your heart tells you. This game is all about points and picking a Presti or Darren Mead because they are one of your beloved players is a massive mistake.

The whole reason this forum is here is to get some feedback from other points of view. So yes, you should take on the replies in the sense that you should consider what others are saying and go and research the benefits/problems of these players in comparison to those you have picked.

Critical thinking is absolutely vital in picking your dream team, it is not done entirely on instinct. As I said previously, you need to weigh up the benefits (ie scoring limits, consistency, reliability, MPP, etc) and the risks (injury, inconsistency, etc) to determine if the player fits your team. The fact that you say that you need to do your own research and draw your own conclusions; yet that it is instinctive, is contradictory.

I realise that this probably comes across as me being a prick, please believe this is not my intention.

Na you don't sound like a prick sweetie. The aim to my post was to not disregard others opinions. Just do not over think it. As for the comment on going on what your heart tells you, I did not mean in an impulsive sense but rather the love of the game and your knowledege :)

I at least partly agree with Miss Pies.  For people who follow the footy closely "gut feeling" can sometimes over-ride pure statistics.  Most of my team selections are the result of research and note-taking.  But there is always room for the intuitive and, strangely enough, for me at least, those selections usually work.
