Just wondering. I have $138,700 left in the bank. Before you guys ask, I do have a pretty good, solid team. But anyway, just wanna know your opinions on having too much money left in the bank. It will help with mid-season upgrades when the cash cows have earned their $$$ but will it hurt my weekly scores?

Unless you've managed to pick all the players who will burst out break out seasons/ go into the premium and ultra-premium range, of course it's going to help your scores. However, that extra cash could very well save you one or two trade... so, your call.

$138k will still be $138k come upgrade time. But spend it on the field, and you could have made a healthy return and increased that $138k.

Saying that, don't spend for the sake of it if you're happy with the team, but make sure 100% happy before just letting that cash sit with no return on the bench.

chrisuzz

that extra cash couls help you though cos instead of upgrading to a premium, you may be able to upgrade to a super premium, soup to you really :)

ive got a fair bit of cash sitting there too so dont worry ;)

Ziplock

my spare cash has fluctuated from 228 000 down to 300.

and I'm short it's going to change as the season wears on :P

Mish

i got around 100k in the bank and all the players in my team are pretty much locked other than the rookies on the bench which will be decided the day teams come out.

Chopps

mine fluctuate's 500 to 180,000 depends what day it is

Ziplock

I know what you mean, tuesdays I'm on 300, and then saturday 120 000. Every week.

I dunno what's up...?

Mish

but realisticly i dont think anyone should have over $200k in the bank as the odds of you probably missing something extra in there.. from past 4 years experience having too much in the bank is really unecessary unless your very unsure about your cash cows.

I have $1.1M in the bank. Round 4 just over and my team value's gone up $1M already.
Back cows: Heppell Duigan Smith Otten Lower
Centers: Curnow D.Swallow Harris Liberatore Bennell Conca
Rucks: Smith
Forwards: Darling Tapscott Knights Prestia Richardson Matera

With my guns, these great cows are getting me 2000+ each round. When then each peak in price, I'll do a straight sway with an extra 100K to sweeten the deal. Obviously I'm not going for a car, I want to knock the snot out of my league opponents. 15 of these guys played last round for a combined total of 1156 (av. 77)
Much cheaper points. Sure it's a gamble but these are most of the top cows so it's paying off.
Personally I don't understand people prioritise of aiming for overall position. I treat it like footy teams set out to do - win a league against people I know. Then take the piss.
Not worried about trades - starteds with 10 premiums. When a premium enters my team they're there to stay (pity bout Watson there). I'll get them when they bottom out on the DT rollercoaster and build a powerhouse.

When did you pick this team? Before round 1 or before round 3?

Before round 1. I brought in Tapscott for Mitch Morton and Curnow for Josh P Kennedy. I also have Krakouer in midfield, maybe to Fyfe this round though - only if I can convince myself Fyfe is a keeper. Also Buckley in backline is taking up space, likely to Adcock this round.
If I'd made this team before round 3, I'd be in leagues with all randoms. All with identical teams.

Very nicely done. Bring in Chapman after his bye for sure.
