according to the fixture, it looks as though freo, melb, syd, and bris have both their byes in multi team bye weeks, which, i guess means that if you're going for a league win, it does'nt matter how many players from those sides you have in your side, they won't miss a game. correct?

diddley

correct. only a problem if you stock up on them going for a overall ranking or win. otherwise, you are fine.

yorgis

nah just going for league have 3 sainters and 2 1/2 dockers

cortez

I don't get what it is about picking different teams for overall or league. If you plan on going for overall and go well your going to finish high in your league anyway true?

twinkle

not necesarily. what if all/most of your leauge opponents are just going for leauge wins. if you go for overall win they will have a significant advantage over you by not having to cover (many) byes.

If your scoring well enough to finish top thousand I'm pretty sure your scores will be good enough to get to finals.

No,  if you play your trades right you will have a poor team scpres at the start (less than 2000) as you are stocked up on rookies.
At the end of the season you have traded these rookies in to cash up on for more prems. (now scoring 2400).
You might be averaging the same for the season but "rookie ramping" gives you a better team at the business end of the season.

Oh and by the way............. If you finish in the top 20,000 you are either a genius or you have inside info.

No offense. :)

you serious? i finished in the top 8000 last year, and i barely know anything about how to play the game of AFL, plus i built my initial team with 2 hours research. i dont even know what half my players look like. all it is, is a mathematical fantasy game, where the figures are determined by real life people. research and being able to read statistic fluctuations is enough to do well. being a genius would help, inside info would be useful as well, but not always needed. sometimes gut feelings pay off.

cortez

Yea I've finished top 20,000 the past 2 years and not a genius nor do i have inside info. It's not that hard to finish top 20k if you know what your doing
