Intersting little NAB Cup Final.

Essendon after its first piece of silverware since 2001, Pies after first preseason win since the 1970s.

If Pies win, they'll hold all three trophies (Premiers, Minor Premiers, Preseason Premiers) at the same time, and that would be cool. Geelong last did that in 2007.

So who will win?

Underfeated under Hird, the Bombers seem to really want this comp. Impressive showings against St. Kilda (twice), Brisbane and Melbourne.

The Pies don't seem to have gotten out first gear though. After dismantling the Tigers, they have only done what was required against Carlton, Sydney and West Coast. So on form, you'd have to say Essendon look more menacing.

Pies have smashed Essendon in there last 3 encounters.

I think the Pies experience will be too much. It is only the NAB Cup, but once you're in the final, you may as well win it.

I'm hoping Essendon win, but it is just pre-season and I know we won't! Hoping the Pies put down a close to full strength side so we can see where we are really at.

It may only be the NAB cup, but it's still a GF, and both teams will want to win. I think both teams will field as close to their round 1 team as possible.
I think the Dons will win.

Dont care.  :)

A Carlton supporter not caring about a Pies v Bombers Grand Final? Must sting a little

nathan11

depends on the side the pies put out there, then we will see how pointless they think the nab cup is, full strength side should be a little too good for the bombers :(  but if they rest players for rd 1 bombers can win

Saints just can't beat us 8).

I'd like a win but it'll take alot to get over the Premiers, even if it is Pre-Season.....

TBH, I don't really care about this either. I want this treated as just another warm up match. I don't care if we win or lose, we don't gain 4 points from it  ;)

8-6 Suited

Pies by 27pts.

Reasoning behind this is simple. Collingwood in recent weeks have fielded young talent while resting the veterans. That changes this weekend with the everyone returning to an almost full strength side. I am looking forward to seeing how Didak goes as he is expected to play.

So thus, Essendon will lose due to inexperience. But it will be a good contested match.
