HELP! New DT'er

Hi guys,  I'm new to DT (I play a keeper league) and currently involved in a league with a group of mates that costs $100 to enter and I'm kind of keen to get some of that cesh back.  I'll happily help anyone that helps me!
Is the guns and rookies a good approach for a league win?

I have $103,500 in the bank.  Too much?
