Low: 47 (Round 16)
Standard Deviation: 26.49
Centuries: 7 out of 22
Starting Price: $387,900
High Price: $429,100 (round 17)
Low Price: $344,000 (round 10)

Summary:

I know a recent Jamar profile was done in DT, but hopefully SC has a different mindset :)

Mark Jamar had a break out season in 2010, averaging almost 30 hit outs a game and proving extremely solid in the ruck all year. He was rewarded with an All-Australian jumper and IMO was the 2nd best ruckmen for the year (although I would not have picked a 2nd ruck in the All-Aus team this year, and if I was forced to, would have selected Darren Jolly due to his goal scoring ability).

In SC, Jamar was the 3rd highest scoring ruckmen averaging 82.32 with 7 centuries. If you had him as your #2 from the start, you would have been more than happy. Against top 8 teams, Jamar actually had a better average (90.8) and if you take Freo out of that equation (v the Sand Man), this average increases to 95.7. Jamar also dominated Collingwood (131 and 113) twice.

The Crystal Ball:

Based on last year's magic number
Price: $437,200

Based on m0nty's fanplanner
Price: $416,300

Position: RUC

What is a little concerning is that Jamar's starting price will actually be higher than he ever got during 2010.  I'd guess he'd average around the 80 mark again, so I'm not sure on how much value you'd get from Jamar. However, a lot of people would prefer to just to pick a 2nd ruck and forget about them, and Jamar does bring that security at least.

Decision:

Again another player on the short list. I'm more likely to select Jolly ahead of him, but no reason I couldn't have a change of heart.

I might choose him because of the bye situation, or I might just go Jolly  :-\

Maca24

think his year might have been a bit flukey. no from me.

MajorLazer

Had him this year and can be awfully inconsistent, but he saved me in some games. Might take him because of the byes.

Fletch74

Unlikely for me. I have my rucks set with Sandilands and Jolly, with Petrie as my reserve from the fwd line.

Junktimer

unlikely for me as Petrie and Sandilands are pretty much locked in

could go either way,
yeah depending on if Melbourne choose to play 2 rucks i reckon

McDonald's MPP is far too tasty and I don't like having two rucks from the same team.

+1 IMO a definite no-no to have 2 rucks from the same team

Agreed. That's another argument for Petrie starting as a 6th or 7th forward - the fact that some coahes may like Majak Daws (possible bench ruck) chances of getting strong TOG after HMac's achilles injury.
