id only be burning this many trades this early if going for overall, not for league

in league, if your team is competitive and youve already got 4-5 wins under your belt, id save em because the early impatient bird runs out of steam unless you have lady luck on your side

Wes i'm six and one with my difficult games in 13 , 15 , 17. 11 trades left, how long do i hold for?

bundyboy

yep...after rd 14 final trade to bring in Swan....8 left and team will be finally locked..

still have cash cows to do double trade up's if necessary - but with solid bench cover in all lines, and mpp to help that, team is as locked as it's going to be.

looking back - every trade made has been a positive, just wish I had started rd 1 with a smarter line up .. :-[

My team will be pretty much set by round 14(upgrades wise) and all going to plan I will have 8 trades left for the rest of the year. Is that enough to cover injuries/finals cover? Only finals guys to worry about are my 3 geelong players, but if im lucky I wont have to play that week if I go through to the gf with a week off. What you reckon?

i will have 6 next round so you should be fine, i have 4 gellong guys but i go for overall. As long as you have loaded up on MPP you should be fine, i have guys like mzungu, didak, jacobs, hibberd and petrie able to cover the rucks so im happy.

This has changed a little since I started this thread. I'm down to 7 already and have all premiums except puopolo in the backs. But thats it until finals and hopefully i'll be ok. Have intentionally focussed on premiums that rarely miss games. Having said that, montagna was one of of those and now he's out  >:(

I have 8 now with a pretty set team.

nice mate. I should have 2 non premiums in the backline and thats it. Although im not too fussed about the backline at this stage because you couldnt call many, if any, genuine premiums this year. maybe gibbs delid and adcock

yeah, with players like Stanley almost becoming a keeper now there is no big rush to set the defence as yet. Also I'm one of those who a) hung onto Otten, and b) have Puopolo, Lower, Jacobs & Hibberd to pick as my 6th & 7th defenders right now.

8 trades left but a complete team is what I'm aiming for.

I have 12 ATM

elephants

I have a question.

Is 6 trades enough by round 15?

I then see this as 2-3 aside for LTI's

3-4 aside for bye enforced trades?

thoughts?

I'm considering double trading now and leaving myself with 5 for the rest of the season....

awfully tempting huh zip.
I personally think that people are setting aside too many trades for finals. Ideally you want your team to be as good as it can be for as long as possible.
Welcome to my team Ian Callinan

IMO (which is what you asked for), no. i think injury counts will be higher this year and id rather start strong finish strong than start strong and then drag my sorry ass to the finish line... im also talking overall.

I have 9 trades left and am ranked in the top 100 in the comp. My midfield is set and my forward line is set. This week i look to be copping a donut with no Roo, Buddy and Darling being sent back to the twos. Is it worth a trade bringing in Didak or Higgins as a 7th forward/mid? Would leave me with 8 trades left for the year, keeping in mind i need to use atleast two to upgrade lower and Heppell (was thinking of swapping one of those this week to Suckling)
