The pies were like 50 points down in that match, came back to lose by 1 point. Then went onto thrash the 3 teams they played in the NAB cup. So they had good form.

Carlton won the NAB Cup under Dennis Pagen and went on to collect the wooden spoon that season. Not much of a guide, it is probably good that you don't have to travel across the country (like Hawthorn).
