Richmond's midfield

It seems to me that Richmond's midfield will be particularly interesting in 09 - Couglan, Cousins and Deledio all to be given serious consideration.

Is it too much to have all three in your starting 22?  Is Nathan Foley a smokey to improve with the arrival of Cousins taking heat off of him?  Is Deledio the biggest lock of 09, particularly if through some act of god, he is named as a forward?

Fire away!

Look at Foley's 07 numbers... 08 he copped a tag more often than not, and 09 should see Cousins or Deledio get more of the attention.

I think Foley is a very good midfield target at his price.

Don't forget Shane Tuck too easily.
Can rack up some big numbers from time to time, was evident particularly in the 2nd half of last year.

Would you take foley over D Kerr?

Foley over Kerr hey? Why would you choose Foley over Kerr? Not disagreeing with you, just curious as to your reasons why you owuld.

look at the west coast midfield. Kerr was targeted like crazy lastyear and tbh i dont think it will get any better.

Foley among the richmond midfield has much less of a chance to be singled out, although he was tagged quite a bit through last year. With the arival of cuz and coughlin however, this will most likely be less of an occurence.

besides, foley is a gun, he just seems to be grossly underrated.

Kerr's also a bit of a loose cannon. Hate to have him in my side and then see him get dropped for a good bulk of time again.

What about Foley over Lovett? Lovett's a bit of a gun player too, and they're both a very similar price.. Keen to hear your thoughts on which of those two would be a better choice.

warwithin

yea, that is actually a really good point.

pending price difference (dictating choice), foley just seems way more disciplined. I remember hearing lovett having problems w/ commitment etc. Where as, if you look at Foley, he just seems focused and always willing.

although, lovett still has that flash and a dash of class about him.

close, but in my opinion, id still prefer foley. I reckon he will just relish in the new leadership role his been given down at the tigers

i am an essendon supporter and im saying get foley over lovett.i the best you can hope for lovett will be 100-110 and hell probably average 85-90 throguhout the year. he'll pe pretty consistent but he'll get the odd 50-

Wohhh, are we talking about Foley...the guy who can somehow rack up 35 possessions and still only score 80 dream team points. Yeh he's a good player in theory and for his club, but DT wise...hes a dud and always will be unless he can start marking the ball and kicking it rather than handpassing. Neither Kerr or Foley for me, stay clear.
