Next year team?HELP ME

Hey all,

I have stared to plan my team for next year
I have got a few positions set in clay already for next year.....What you think?
And i am wondering if my tactics of having 4 premiums in each spot is worth it?
Can you comment on my tactics and my team so far?

Defence

1.James Kelly
2.Heath Scotland
3. Greg Brougton
4.Brad Symes
5. A guy around the price of $290 (any ideas?)
6. A Beau Waters of this year (any ideas)
7. Not Sure

Ideas of any other defender

What do you think about Goddard?is he worth slotting in there?

Midfields
1. Paul Chapman
2. Liam Anthony
3. Jason Gram only because he is a MPP with James Kelly?
4. Bernie Vince
5. Travis Boak
6. Adam Cooney

What do you think about the likes of ablett and swan will they fire again?

Reserves the top 3 round draft picks........... or Brodie Martin?

Zac Smith what you think?, Anyone else?

i reckon that would pass the budget with the 3 reserves they are bringing in think you should spend less in the ruck

yeah i like the uniqueness of your team and you have to consider kennedy from sydney :) i think it is a bit over but you have a lot of decent uniques :)

You've got 17 guys who will be $350k plus there. There is no way anyone will be able to afford more than 15 350k+ players without both avoiding super-premiums and going super cheap for the rest of the team, both of which are bad moves.

Ignoring the fact that you are definitely over budget, my main objection to your team is picking five cheap keepers (they will all be too expensive to consider upgrading) in the midfield. Having that many guys who are unlikely to average over 100 in your midfield means towards the end of the season you will get beaten every time by teams with Swan, Boyd, Montagna etc in their midfield. You really have to start at least one cheap player in the midfield, either a rookie or a discounted player like Hartlett, Foley or Kerr. Otherwise you will have very little cash to spend in the other positions, and no room for improvement in the mids.

Finally, Andy Otten, Jed Adcock and Daniel Harris look to be the Beau Waters's of 2011 - Otten in particular looks like an excellent pick since he'll help fill the void left by Goodwin, McLeod and Bock. I recommend picking two of these guys. In fact, I'll probably pick all three.  :P

only thing really against Otten is that the crows are looking at recruiting carlton half back Andrew Walker, still recon Otten will be a gun...if hes fit.
Dunno bout starting Chappy in your mids, hes getting quite old these days and also look at a rookie instead of 2 of the players out of Coon, Vince n Boak (too many croweaters in that midfield  ;D )
overall u need to look at rookies, particularily GC ones as theyre gonna get loads of gametime
