Find out below!

Most Games Against Top 4 - including round 22 (wins in brackets, * play top 4 team this round):

Essendon - 8 (3*)
Hawthorn - 7 (1.5*)
Collingwood  - 6 (4)
Carlton - 6 (2)
Brisbane - 6 (2)
Adelaide - 6 (1*)
Sydney - 6 (1)
North Melbourne - 6 (0)
Fremantle - 5 (1)
Port Adelaide - 5 (1)
Melbourne - 5 (0.5)
Richmond - 5 (0)
West Coast - 5 (0*)
St. Kilda - 4 (3)
Geelong - 4 (2)
Western Bulldogs - 4 (0)

Collingwood's draw the toughest of the top 4 teams, and have won the most top 4 games. Amazingly, Essendon played 14/22 matches against top 8 sides this year (no one else had 13), and won 5 - meaning they've only beaten bottom 8 sides this year twice. Collingwood played more top 8 sides than any other top 8 side (which in my bias opinion makes finishing top a very good achievement).

Most Games Against Bottom 4 - including round 22 (wins in brackets, * play bottom 4 team this round):

Carlton - 8 (6)
Geelong - 7 (6*)
Fremantle - 6 (5)
Adelaide - 6 (5)
Melbourne - 6 (5)
Sydney - 6 (4*)
St. Kilda - 6 (4)
Port Adelaide - 6 (3*)
Western Bulldogs - 6 (3*)
Collingwood - 5 (4)
North Melbourne - 5 (4)
Hawthorn - 5 (3)
West Coast - 5 (2)
Brisbane  - 4 (3)
Essendon - 4 (1)
Richmond - 3 (2)

Carlton has played each of this year's bottom 4 twice, and have only won 2 games against top 8 sides (Geelong, Saints funnily enough). Only Melbourne and West Coast have won less games against top 8 sides (though Richmond, Port, Adelaide also only won 2). Geelong will make it 7 wins from 7 games this week against West Coast, and West Coast's two victories both came against Essendon.

Always knew the Bombers had a tough draw this year, and yet there are so many people wanting to get rid of Knights. Sometimes they have to look deeper than that to find the reason for the year that has been.

Interesting that the Bulldogs haven't displayed the form that all thought they could, contrasting to the Pies achievement (hurts me to say that).

Good stuff Ossie

Cheers Flecth,

Despite Essendon's tough draw, winning only 2 matches from 8 against bottom 8 sides is VERY poor. Especially losing to West Coast in Melbourne.

Put in perspective, if the competition only consisted of the current bottom 8 sides, Essendon would be last.

Yes I know, thanks for that reminder  :'(  Inexperience does that I suppose!!

Wouldn't travelling be the biggest factor in determining the difficulty of a teams draw Ossie?

It definitely is a factor to take in to consideration.

Not denying traveling would be hard, but it works both ways. Perth teams get a significantly better home ground advantage against team that perhaps aren't as used to travel

This is a stupid thread. Collingwood have obviously had the easiest draw, they haven't played anyone above them on the ladder

And West Coast have had the hardest draw. They have only played against teams above them!!!

just when the fans think that they can get any worse..... they can actually go even lower next year with a 17th team.
