Cover for opponents or go for the X factor

I have to use my last trade to cover for Shaun Higgins.

I'm tossing up between Montagna and Dal Santo.

All bar one of my fellow Preliminary finalists in two leagues have Montagna. None have Nicky Dal.

Should I cover for Montagna or go for the X factor that Nicky Dal is likely to give?

I'm leaning toward Dal Santo as this more risky strategy tends to appeal to me.
