when roo went down didn't want to be fooled by j brown so chose brennan instead.

suffered almost the same outcome as traded brennan out just before he came back when most reliable sources said it would be 5-6 weeks.

Picking players away from Victorian clubs trying to be a little different,Eagles,Port,Crows and paying the price as there fortunes tumbeled.
well depends on who u picked from these teams
waters an obvious great choice, and kcornes, jury is still out on dangerfield, bock n goodwin, cox shudnt of been selected from the start n hitchcock was a decent rookie
if u picked up tippet, masten or gray than very unlucky

I'm quite suprised that Masten hasn't got a mention really. Also interesting that the owner's (or previous owners) aren't regretting that they didn't trade him out prior to round 1 when his injury concern was first revealed.

gards

Trading Eski out just before first lockout.....
Mitch Clark
JKT
Panic trading out Boomer after round 2

Thats about it, did pretty well from the start bar those mistakes.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. What makes DT so great? Is our pitfalls on choosing players at the start of the season only to have them LTI by round 3. You can not waste time worrying whether or not you would have kept a gun.

We do what we do and make the best decision possible at the time. Sometimes reading forums like these make us stray from our gut instincts which we later regret. But just remember what ever you read on who or who not to choose in your 22 is off your own back.

One of the hardest choices I have found earlier in the piece was backs because there were not a great deal of rookies under 110k to choose from to make up for what we really needed in our mids. Having said that forwards are now a big issue in choice. With so many LTI's and/or guns missing in action for a few rounds. Or even fluctuating players such as Barry Hall make it difficult to grasp a good team in the long run.

IMO choose players that are not injury prone and are in the 22 week in and week out. Jump on reserves that can and will play in a possie if one of your premiums/guns fall from grace.

PS. Best choice I made was Jacky Reiwoldt from the start and benching Judd for the first few rounds.
