Jnr is a huge american sports fan and after seeing what Lebron has endured this year for trying to put off talks until seasons end u would have thought if he were staying he wouldve had it sorted by now, Jnr and The King r clearly on the move... money talks bullshower walks

RyanV22

Theres talk of GAJ going to GC and Boak going to Geelong. In the end doesn't really matter to us DT folk he'll still rack up 30 disposals per game.

+1...... who r the atlanta falcons?

Blueboys

You would think that GAJ earns enough $ and would be playing with the team he loves....

fieval

If the Cats were to get 2 first round draft picks as compo
they may decide losing Gablett is better for the club longterm...

That midfield is still pretty awesome without Gazza and if it meant 2 young guns to build another dynasty on (plus free up a heap of salary cap).
They may decide that a trade is in the long term interests of the club ???

Of course with Scarlett,Milburn,Mooney and Chapman all in the twilight of their careers the Cats will have salary room, but not early picks.

bundyboy

yes - very astute fieval..

couple of early draft picks are going to be gold in the next couple of years for the cats when some of their elders retire -  like you say they might have lots of dollars, but are not even looking like getting an early pick unless it is at the cost of GAJ

recon he might be gone......

30 touches per game? Without the structure around him setting blocks and creating lines for him to run through, GAJ will find it MUCH harder if indeed he goes to GC. Any squad he joins up there won't be able to provide him the protection to collect so much ball due to their youth and initial  lack of cohesion.
He will get smashed as he is then forced to go harder for the ball inside the pack and run harder to open the space and lines himself, pushing that pesty calf to the edge and more mid season breaks to recover.

Safer to remain a CAT!

30 may have been a little over the top :D

He'll be more inconsistent without his supporting cast but other players manage to rack up the disposals in poor/young sides. As for being rested he hasn't played 22 since 2007 and won't this year either.

So yeah if he does go the way of GC next year I imagine his DT scores would look like Tuck's and Boomer's. Both in young sides and can have downers. Be interesting to see how it all pans out though. (I'll probably be wrong lol)
