Wonder what everyone thinks about the risk of a late withdrawal on the line where you sub your playing guy out to put C on the non-playing guy ?

If a late withdrawal happens then unless you have two emergencies on that line with both playing (i.e., one is a permanent E such as Martin, Trengove, etc ... in the mids, and the other is the sub guy), you will be coping a donut, eventhough you have a permanent cover.

Thats the risk you take. Big risk, big reward.

would make the game more interesting i suppose.

a 30-50 points difference would be a reasonable break either way.
