Ruck is the key IMO.

Really? Hawks won without a dominant ruckmen, and although Ottens, Jolly, Ball and Keating are good ruckmen, they aren't world beaters. In the last 10 years, its really only been Dean Cox as a dominant premiership ruckmen.
