What's the deal with D.Gilmore from Freo? Would he be a better option than Mcintosh for similar price?

Can someone plz fill me in?

I'm told he's found a niche in the backline - question is if he can return to and extend on 2007 form.

i noticed he averaged 70 odd in 07 not too bad for a second ruck option but is he likely to play 22 games?

HMAC would also need to get back to '07 form...

yeah true, thanks mate.

can any Freo supporters fill me in?

If he can keep fit then he would be a good second ruck option.  Is a mobile tall (189cm, 90kg) with a good tank who likes to kick the ball (nice left foot kick), can take marks and 1 or 2 tackles per game.  He is a reasonable back up for the ruck due to his jumping ability, but dont expect big numbers from his ruck work.  (Expect Bradley to do most of the backup ruck work as young Zac Clark is a long way off)

Problem is he doesnt play 22 matches a season.  I can see him averaging around the 60 - 70 DT points a game when he does play.

Games Played

2004 - 8 (elevated from Rookie list)
2005 - 2
2006 - 9
2007 - 14
2008 - 7

Admittedly early on in his career he was trying to cement his spot in the team, but he is in the best 22 when fit.

2008 Totals (from 7 games)
Kicks - 71
Handballs - 40
Marks - 46
HO - 6
FF - 6
FA - 7
Tackles - 13
Goals - 0

I have been seriously thinking about him in my team but for $300k its quite a big risk

cheers mate i'll have to wait and see. i'm not lookin at having him all year but just long enough til i can upgrade to a hille or whoever else is lookin good mid year.

Queenslander

he is 300k. i was looking at him as a potential second ruck keeper. but i too wanna upgrade, and 300k is too expensive for someone i will upgrade later. i am going tippet for this reason, although he may be terrible.

mate trust me, i'm an adelaide supporter and i don't wanna touch him with a 10 foot pole. he won't score very well and he may even find himself in and out of the side as adelaide try to find a winning formula in their fwd line.

300k isn't much for a 2nd ruck when really there isn't much depth there. the thing that appealed to me with Gilmore is he plays a midfield role aswell. just not too confident he'll play every week
