After having locked Hill into my side since the start', I today subbed him out for the first time and heres why.

Firstly he is too expensive for the bench meaning your only option is as your 7th back.

The issue with this is I don't see him scrawny body standing up to 22 games this year. I think he is a 10-12 game player, possibly as high as 15 games. This would be fine is there was another rookie back who could sub off the bench when he is rested but as Monty pointed out today none of the rookie backman can be guarenteed a full 22 game and the most popular ones (petrenko, suban, grima, broughton) are also unlikely to have close 22 games all of which adds up to a decent chance of at least one 0.

The only way to play hill would be to have suban and broughton and the bench because th dockers are unlikely to rest all three at the same time. But I am personally not a fan of this stategy.

Alternatively you could free up 100-150K upgrade hill to one of the players who is firmly entrenched in the 22 (geary, raines, hurn, nicoski, spangler, dempsey, houlihan) and sleep a bit easier.

well considering that there is no good cheap backs ~100k for the bench, wouldnt it be good to put hill there who can cover? 60k now could save a 0 or a trade. thats my 2 cents
