Haven’t seen him feature in many teams, if any.

Sat next to a Swans coaching member Thursday night at AFL launch and he said that Buddy is in the best shape he’s been in at this time of the season.

Surely the 6-6-6 rule can only help Buddy?

Thoughts?

I was under the impression he was touch and go for round 1.

Danger and Heeney are locked in for me so Buddy will be an upgrade target after the byes.

Could be a massive pod and start the year on fire though with the 6-6-6 rule and bulldogs will struggle to stop him in round 1.

I also thought he was a big chance to miss round 1. I will be looking into it now though as he could be a great option if he starts

Even if fit, would only consider as an upgrade target.

History shows that he will dip to low $400's at some stage of the season

You sure it wasn't just some random off the street dressed as a Swans coaching member?  :P

The last report I read was he is 50/50 carrying the same injury that he had all last year.

Buddy will play round 1, IMO but isnt 100% fit and I wouldnt be surprised if he misses a big chunk midyear to get him right for finals (if we get there)

this will be the first year I dont start with the great man, and I am 100% confident in that choice.

While this is true, given the forward line is a minefield beyond Danger/Heeney, Buddy is probably the safest third forward. Has been top 10 in 4 of the last 5 years, and will be there again at season's end.

Good insight, but if I was going a third premo FWD I would prefer a solid 90-100 from the likes of Mundy every week and just wait and see on Buddy.

Might miss round. Used to b a must have now its more a wait and see. Last year when he went big it was huge but then put in some 40-70 point games and they hurt

Franklin in my team if playing round 1. I'll replace him with Westhoff if he doesn't play.

Tom Harley. Just realised he’s not coaching member but still very senior.

But I must confess he told my mate, who told me. I was 2 seats down and didn’t hear him but my mate said that Harley reckons he was in good shape. Mind you it could just be smoke and mirrors. Will wait and see I guess when teams named.

Put Franks in my team last year after 1st round and the rest is history
