Does anyone know how the position changing will work?

A straight swap is obviously ok but is the following possible?

Back position player (sell)
Hodge (move from mids to back)
Mid position player (buy)?

also could a 3 way swap be possible?

back player to forward;
forward to mid;
mid to back?

I liked those ideas too, but I don't see it happening.

Nope that wont work. You can only swap a MID/FWD for another MID/FWD and so on...Click the Sub button on a multi position player and you can see who he is able to switch to.

Say, if you wanted to shift Hodge from your backline to your midfield, and you want to upgrade another MID/DEF from your midfield to a premium backman, you could substitute Hodge and the player, tehn upgrade once he's in your back line.

The main benefit of the multi position rule is enabling your high scoring midfield reserves to cover certain injuries instead of your weaker backline/forward line reserves, especially for those pesky short term injuries to your locks. Im not going to explain how though, you can surely get your head around that.

drock is right. Although many players have dual positions  example: you can not take them as a mid and swap them for a def. The only way you CAN get around this however is to use a trade..then trade the same play back in as the other position, hardly worth it IMO.

Thanks for that.... It would work if there was a sell... then buy system rather than the current trade one....maybe they should have thought of that...could have opened up some interesting dynamics

To clarify, the only way to get a DEF/MID player from your DEF to your MID, is by swapping him with another MID/DEf who is already in your midfield squad.
