As we enter Round 6, we'll find ourselves just passed the 1/4 mark of the season and many people going for their first or second non-sideway/correction upgrades.

This should give us a large enough sample size to generally agree on who are the current must haves or must gets leading up to the byes.

With most people starting around 14 Premium Keepers (give or take) what do you consider the "template" team leading towards the R12 Bye (half way mark of the season). Who do you already have and who you should be getting ASAP?

I'll start -

DEF : Have Laird Hurley getting one of Yeo Simpson
MID : Have Danger Tichell Dusty Fyfe Coniglio getting one of Cripps Oliver and/or a fallen premium Zerret MCrouch
RUCK : Have Gawn don't have Grundy
FWD : Have Heeney will be aiming for Gray in R11

My other "keepers" include Savage, S.Martin, McLean, D.Smith and Walters.

Is there any1 else you consider a must have (if you have them already) or a must get if you don't?

Goosey

I was thinking about this on the way to work this morning!

My four key upgrades are:

Heeney
Grundy
Oliver
Hurley

Have:
Mostly mid pricers up forward Hogan Smith Billings Taranto Caddy (in the mids at present) Dunkley
Gawn Goldy
Mitchell Martin Fyfe Coniglio Bont
Laird Simpson Savage

Ranked 5.5K

Have traded Garlett to Guelfi this week, one trade spare, 300K in the bank, plenty of cows grazing not mooing yet.

Have Laird, Hurley getting one (or both) of Yeo, Simpson
Have Mitchell, D. Martin, Fyfe, getting Dangerfield and one of M. Crouch, Oliver or Macrae.
Have Gawn, don't need Grundy IMO as S. Martin is going alright.
Have Heeney, no definite aims yet. Possibly Gray if he keeps it up.

Other keepers are: Savage, Cripps, Coniglio (don't consider him a must), Merrett, S. Martin, McLean, Smith, Sicily, Billings. Christensen a possibility, but not likely.

HoleMeal

ok i'll play

DEF : Have Laird Simpson Shaw - want Hurley & Yeo
MID : Have Danger Tichell Dusty Fyfe Coniglio Cripps  - need Oliver and MCrouch
RUCK : Have Gawn don't have Grundy
FWD : Have Gray Greene - need Heeney

FWIW I also have...
DEF- Doedee Bonnner Finlayson
MID- Kelly Holman
FWD- Smith Stephenson Guelfi ZGL

25 trades $181k

Have a fairly high amount of premos but not the best in their roles.

Have: Laird, Lloyd, Ryan,
Danger, Fyfe, Mitchell, Coniglio, Treloar, Merrett,
S Martin, Gawn,
McLean, Walters, Billings, Sicily and Taranto who I'm hoping will be a a keeper.

So watchlist is now Yeo, Gray, Heeney, Crouch, Dusty and Simpson/Hurley

I think Cripps is some1 every1 wishes they started or is now on their watch-list. Coniglio is another most people wish they started though now view him more as a ship that has sailed.

Savage was in a similar boat until last week's Pumpkin score of 58 ... so attitudes to must haves can change quickly ... but I think with the few replies we've had so far the a pattern is emerging.

Agreed.

But with Cripps and Coniglio, there's definitely alternatives (Macrae, Oliver, M. Crouch even Pendlebury), whilst they have been great I don't consider them musts.

Savage and McLean are in a similar boat. If Savage had've gone 90+ last week, I agree that many would've considered him close to a must.

Def: Have Laird, Hurley, Savage targeting Yeo and possibly Simpson and think Doedee can hold D6
Mids: Have Mitchell, Martin, Fyfe, Coniglio, Bont Danger next week depending on Franklins injury, Targeting Cripps.
Rucks: Have Martin and Gawn
Fwds: Have Mclean (currently in mids), Walters, Westhoff targeting Heeney, Gray.

Forwards the issue and apart from Heeny and McLean no others stand out especially with Buddys injury,
