First team for 2018 - Only been doing AF for 2 years so hoping to improve my 22k rating. Still learning the ropes with the differing rules and scoring.  So any advice appreciated.

Football Factory

Looks pretty good Ringo, cant say much really. We need to see some practice games etc. Maybe one too many rooks starting on ground? hard to say at this early stage until we can see what rooks/cheapies we have to work with.

HappyDEZ

Beams is gutsy. Risk vs. reward. I suppose AF is the best format to back him in. No Heeney? He is a lock for mine. As I typed in on GoLions team I reckon Parish is a lock as a FWD too.

Peter

Good side Ringo to start with, let’s hope higg priced rookies all start

Ringo

Updated team to sit and wait for JLT and Rd 1.

One of the issues for me will be 3 rookies in defence each week so may have to adjust.

Mr.Craig

The guy who sticks out to me in that team is Gunner. Yes, he has an 87 average across the last 4 years without barely missing a game but there's a number of players who could offer more value in that position. McLean (95.3 from last 10), Sicily (90 from last 9), Jack Martin (92.4 from last 9), Dev Smith (potential for more mid time). Even like a Mitch Robinson who is 56k cheaper could match Gunston this year.

Thank You - looked at Robbo and said is it lions Bias  ;) or will he get the odd tagging role. Looked at his stats and he has started each year strong so may go down to him and keep 60k in bank.

Ringo

OK team to sit on but feel free to comment. Bit of Brisbane Bias but think the selections warranted,  Hodge will not play all games but should average well.

Not a lot of cash left but if need be to sort rookies will downgrade. Bundy to Rayner one I may do.

Toga

Surely you can't pick Hodge if you don't think he will play all games! Would be an interesting POD at any rate.

Mr.Craig

I'll give you Zorko and Ryder, even Hodge but what is going on with Rocky and Beams? I'd like to pick them too but...then stuff happened. Aren't you concerned about that stuff?

First thing I said when Dow did well in that first game was he'll struggle to do it against better opposition and sure enough. Richmond are going to destroy Carlton next week you'd imagine, the draw opens up a bit after that but still I'm not sure how you can look past Brayshaw. Looks a million bucks out there.

LDU might have the JS edge but Banfield at 94k less has so much more scope to rise in value. That would give you the money to go Keefe to Naughton which I like a whole lot better. Even Mitch Hibberd or O'Shea if named could be options there.

I'd imagine you'll need to find a replacement for Ahern.

Those are the key issues I see.

Ringo

A lot of rookies are higher priced so I can downgrade and upgrade elsewhere if necessary,  Although Brayshaw has replaced Dow done that after I posted,

Beams I have no issue with just a concern that he missed JLT due to death of his father.  Did play one intraclub with 2nd one washed out. Was running freely and did some contact work in training as well so comfortable with that.

Rocky may or may not be there Rd 1.

Mr.Craig

Just seems like the risks outweigh the benefits with those two but I guess we'll see.

Ringo

Thought time to update as we are into Rd 1.

May have to trade Kruezer next week.

Peter

Somebody forgot the team bus checklist and Kruezer, Greene, Beams were all off playing cards or on the physio table at Round 2. Hope you had a taxi for them to get a replacement?
