Team looks good very strong mids but the FWD line looks risky Smith lets see how he is used , Robinson has been used as a stopper lately which really hurts his scoring if he goes back to that , your FWD's could be a stroke of brilliance or an absolute season killer but early days  ;)

When I look at your FWD line I don't think any of your 'premiums' will be top 6 come the end of the season, so why start them? You'll either have to trade them for better players or be uncompetitive.  DEF is flimsy too.  That's my opinion.

Money Shot

Smith, Robinson and Lobb could all be top 10 forwards come season end however, the likelihood of them all being there isn't great. In saying that Smith could play predomintaly as a midfielder and he has scored 90+ before. Robinson is destined for more midfield minutes and a greater roll with out Rocky. And if Lobb does play as the sole ruck he is almost inevitably going to go 90+.

So although all three together are risky I actually do like each individual pick.

I just think that if you are sacrificing that much up forward your other lines should be running deep and in my opinion your defence is weak as well.

Peter

Imo Smith and Birchall are the problems. Smith because I believe won’t be top 6 and Birchall cos he will only score aroubd 80 as the experts like MS and RD have said. If you move up to Billings and wait for the defensive rookies, I think your points and team will be stronger

Peter

Also Essendon have quite a difficult first few weeks - Adelaide, Fremantle (away), Bulldogs and Port Adelaide (away)

Feel that you've bulked your mids up a bit too much at the expensive of your FWDs and Backs, would look  to downgrade 2/3 mid pricers and bring in 2/3 premiums. Smith at F1 is a bit too risky for my liking especially.

Peter

Agree with Nostradamus - Smith at F1 is a very big ask

I believe you mean agreeing with SL? :P

Smith and Robbo could both end up as top 10 forwards. Definitely a risk having both from the start, but there are question marks over a lot of the top forwards, so I don't mind it.

Really like your midfield and ruck set up.
Defence reads okay except I’m not keen on Lloyd.
Your forwards all have upside. It’s different but I can see it working. It’s ballsy though. Billings and Heeney are safer but I have considered all those forwards and if they do well pre season then go for it.
Would be great to see Reservoir Dogs back in Elxam too mate... hint hint.

Peter

Have to try and get Ah Chee forward, which will allow you to get a decent mid rookie

+1

I like the speculative picks but as much as they could be masterstrokes, they could backfire. I would prefer to pick one (I'm going with Lobb), then shore up the others, If you really want to roll the dice on all three, then I agree that def is probably a bit lacking for the amount of money you're not using up front. Conigs pretty iffy I think, would redistribute there.
