Danger's out... Never fear, LaHug is here! For those new to the forums, each week I will tell you some statistics on a player's last 3 games, their last 3 against this week's opponent, and their last 3 at this ground. I will also do a quick overview on my thoughts and have a guess at their score for this week. From all this, I'll give you my top 5 captain choices for the week.

The facts & thoughts:

Selwood
Last 3: 59, 115, 94 (89 avg)
Last 3 against Sydney: 166, 95, 125 (129 avg)
Last 3 at Kardinia: 2, 117, 122 (80 avg)

Selwood was effectively tagged last week but Sydney don't seem to be tagging. With Danger out, and Selwood's history against the Swans, he should go big. Prediction - 125

Duncan
Last 3: 117, 104, 99 (107 avg)
Last 3 against Sydney: 96, 98, 63 (86 avg)
Last 3 at Kardinia: 99, 97, 109 (102 avg)

Duncan's been quietly great this year but his history against the Swans make me say no. Prediction - 100

Kelly
Last 3: 91, 98, 110 (100 avg)
Last 3 against Melbourne: 71, 88, 92 (84 avg)
Last 3 at Manuka: 91, 127, 63 (94 avg)

The numbers don't show anything special at all but I like Kelly against the Dees on gut feel alone. I wouldn't be backing LaHug's gut for finals but feel free. Prediction - 110

Merrett
Last 3: 82, 96, 144 (107 avg)
Last 3 against Carlton: 97, 115, 98 (103 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 105, 101, 150 (119 avg)

Zerrett's gone really quiet and we're worried. If you don't have him, you're rejoicing. Carlton may just tag him this week to make matters worse. Prediction - 95

Murphy
Last 3: 93, 92, 105 (97 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 145, 101, 105 (117 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 105, 132, 130 (122 avg)

Murphy loves to play the Bombers but his current form isn't great. He's been awesome at the MCG this year too so I think we need to strongly consider him. Prediction - 125

Docherty
Last 3: 117, 93, 111 (107 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 96, 102, 87 (95 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 111, 152, 132 (132 avg)

Docherty's gone a bit quiet (by his standards) and isn't great against the Bombers but has been great at the MCG. Consider him, sure, but there are better choices. Prediction - 115

Gibbs
Last 3: 97, 37, 113 (82 avg)
Last 3 against Essendon: 136, 95, 125 (119 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 113, 117, 160 (130 avg)

Gibbs has shown he's very susceptible to a tag with two straight scores under the ton. That said, he's great against the Bombers and at the MCG, and the Bombers aren't tagging. Prediction - 125

Zorko
Last 3: 119, 48, 181 (116 avg)
Last 3 against Bulldogs: 157, 107, 108 (124 avg)
Last 3 at Gabba: 119, 181, 45 (115 avg)

Welcome back Zorko! Libba tagged Merrett last week and did a good job. I'm afraid that Zorko will cop it too. However, if he doesn't, expect very big things. Prediction - 95

Beams
Last 3: 144, 142, 95 (127 avg)
Last 3 against Bulldogs: 126, 102, 137 (122 avg)
Last 3 at Gabba: 142, 71, 5 (73 avg)

I'm assuming Zorko's tagged which leaves an in-form Beams to run free. Two scores in a row over 140 and a great history against the Dogs. Prediction - 135

Adams
Last 3: 151, 106, 105 (121 avg)
Last 3 against North: 103, 97, 83 (94 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 106, 107, 80 (98 avg)

Adams went huge last week and North have given up some tons recently. One to consider with Pendles still out. Prediction - 115

Treloar
Last 3: 119, 114, 101 (111 avg)
Last 3 against North: 93, 131, 84 (103 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 114, 93, 134 (114 avg)

Treloar is great in Pendlebury's absence and we get to see another week of it against the Roos. I'd expect a solid ton for sure. Prediction - 115

Fyfe
Last 3: 120, 88, 109 (106 avg)
Last 3 against Gold Coast: 121, 119, 95 (112 avg)
Last 3 at Subi: 88, 109, 89 (95 avg)

Is Fyfe back or isn't he? I just don't know anymore. He's great against the Suns although they only gave up the one ton last week to the Tiges. Prediction - 115

Neale
Last 3: 106, 95, 114 (105 avg)
Last 3 against Gold Coast: 124, 98, 109 (110 avg)
Last 3 at Subi: 95, 114, 117 (109 avg)

Neale is also great against the Suns but his high scoring hasn't been around recently. Prediction - 110

Ablett
Last 3: 152, 127, 91 (123 avg)
Last 3 against Fremantle: 97, 80, 101 (93 avg)
Last 3 at Subi: 120, 97, 118 (112 avg)

Will GAJ play? He's in incredible form when he gets on the park but he's not that great against the Dockers. You might want to consider him on form alone though if he gets up. Prediction - 125

Gaff
Last 3: 94, 51, 114 (86 avg)
Last 3 against St Kilda: 115, 125, 115 (118 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 51, 130, 95 (92 avg)

Gaff is great against the Saints and I can't imagine he gets the attention that caused that 51 with Saints not tagging. Prediction - 120

D. Martin
Last 3: 112, 116, 131 (120 avg)
Last 3 against Hawthorn: 103, 99, 90 (97 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 116, 96, 100 (104 avg)

Dusty is worth a look on form alone. He wants to lock in that Brownlow even more. Prediction - 120

T. Mitchell
Last 3: 94, 130, 147 (124 avg)
Last 3 against Richmond: 138, 61, 48 (82 avg)
Last 3 at MCG: 94, 147, 135 (125 avg)

Tom Mitchell disappointed last week and it seems the only team he can't smash is his old side. That was his first score under 100 for the year and I expect him to bounce right back against the Tigers. Prediction - 130

Sloane
Last 3: 47, 134, 34 (72 avg)
Last 3 against Port: 139, 96, 67 (101 avg)
Last 3 at AO: 134, 105, 89 (109 avg)

Port have said they will tag him. That's all I need to say. Predition - 55

Wines
Last 3: 85, 104, 114 (101 avg)
Last 3 against Adelaide: 124, 113, 124 (120 avg)
Last 3 at AO: 85, 114, 104 (101 avg)

Ollie Wines loves Showdowns. If you have him, that's good news. If you don't, you could consider trading him in this week. Prediction - 120

LAHUG'S ROUGHIE OF THE WEEK!

In this segment, I'll talk about someone that, because of stats and/or gut feeling, I think will go huge this week. It'll usually be somebody that you wouldn't usually give the C to but, if you have him and are feeling brave, might be worth a look.

Grundy
Last 3: 108, 127, 86 (107 avg)
Last 3 against North: 82, 98, 64 (81 avg)
Last 3 at Etihad: 127, 118, 142 (129 avg)

Note: If Cox or Goldstein plays, don't make Grundy your captain. Grundy loves playing at Etihad. The smaller ground probably allows him to rack up possessions or something. He's in pretty decent form too. But, he sucks against the Roos. Except Goldy isn't playing and he'll smash Daw around the ground. I think he goes huge. Gutsy prediction - 145

The verdict:
1.   Beams (135)

2.   T. Mitchell (130)
3.   Selwood (125)
4.   Gibbs (125)
5.   Murphy (125)

Another great write up LaHug! Choosing between Beams or Mitchell is a tough one, I'm leaning towards Mitchell by a tiny bit right now.

I've been checking in on your article every week so i'll make sure to donate to your charity of choice when I can, cheers!   :)

Thanks dude and much appreciated. I'm trying to work out who will be the most popular of the two choices and I think I'll go the other one for a last ditch effort to make up some rank. Undecided though right now.
