What to do with Jack Steven?

Obviously he's going to miss 2-3 weeks minimum with a punctured lung, and whilst that may not seem like too long, his break even will be very high so he's bound to lose a lot of cash. So it's definitely a trade for me.

Now unfortunately, he's worth a bit less that other prems like Bont and Martin, so unless you have 20-30k sitting in the bank, you can't simply sideways swap him for an in form midfielder.

Anyway, my thinking is downgrading him too Marc Murphy, then upgrading one of Pickett or Parfitt (likely the former) to WHE

What have other people got in mind that have Steven, and what's everyone's thoughts on that trade scenario

There is perhaps a few sideways trades options in Heppell, Wines and Cotchin, but I'm not sure I can garuntee any of them being top 10 mid. Where as Murphy, or say Oliver, may not become top 10 either, but they will generate more cash to make a premo swap later worth it.

I have Steven with under 10k in the bank but have the good expensive rookies. So I'll be looking at Simpkin to Houston and then it'll give me enough to grab pretty much anyone from Steven, I'm leaning towards Rockliff right now :)

Steven > Oliver
Pickett > WHE

Fingers crossed boys, wish me luck.

Does anyone have a confirmed amount of time he's gonna be out? Saints site says he'll be a test for next week. I have him in RDT and dunno what to do with him there :-\

They will be precautious with him, but he's going to lose that much money he's a definite trade for me.

It doesn't matter how much he loses if you think he'll be a keeper. And if you don't think he'll be a keeper then why pick him?

I thought he would be a keeper but after his first 2 games he's looked a little out of sorts. Definitely not the same old jack. He's going to drop in price and Clayton is going to rise. Oliver looks every a more likely keeper than Jack at this stage and if he doesn't quite maintain a 110+ average, then at least he would have pocketed me around 200k in the process (plus the 2 trades which I'm okay with), which is more than the majority of these cheap cash cows will make you.

Plus, as always, I'm going for overall. Having a premium rot on the bench for 2 weeks minimum before then losing cash early in the season just isn't smart.

I didn't realise he had a mullet. Wouldn't have started him had I known that :P

Im trading to Sloane or Rocky.

Tough midfielder Jack Steven will miss Sunday’s game after having to extend his stay in Perth because of a punctured lung he suffered during their loss to West Coast.

Cox said Steven would have to prove his fitness before being selected to face Collingwood in round four.

You would think he probably misses next week too, but then should be back for round five.

If you can't trade Steven up to a better mid I'd go down to Murph

Spanner221

Richo mentioned that Steven wanted to play this weekend, although almost solely as a forward.

Doubt he will be out for long, but also doubt his midfield numbers will be high upon returning.

Oliver is a trap, not worth the trade.. If you're trading in Oliver you want him to bevome a keeper and quite frankly with the amount of top end stars in the midfield that'll average 110-115 this year, you'll be loosing points each week compared to Beams, Treloar, Cripps, Selwood src who are better m8 options

bkimm32

Welp it was only 103 points, but he got that from 26 disposals.

I'm pretty happy with that.
