I started with Cripps last year and he let me down.  :(

You went a year early

I'd pick Cripps, and both of these blokes have been in and out of my side but if I had to pick (and I actually really want to but don't think I can fit them) it's going to be Cripps - just an absolute beast

This thread is 2 years early.

Neither ill trust the old crew

The best young guy is treloar
Agree with this

Does anyone know if Bont has had a full, solid pre season? has he missed any sessions? Has he carried any niggle injury through the pre season?
Sore ankle has him on limited duties for a part of the preseason
source?

I tend to agree, don't think either of them has genuinely earned his stripes as a starting mid...just yet...but happy to be proved  wrong and if one of them goes crazy early on I will probably be more than happy to welcome him into the fold.

Cripps has remained in my team and Bont is in and out! I do like both! am also a carlton supporter which is more than likely influencing that!

This is where some peeps go wrong....a full pre season reaps its rewards in the middle of winter around the end of June, mid July...not the end of April

What's impressing me the most with Cripps tonight is his spread from the contest. His kicking is still iffy but he is getting out and running on the big ground. It's allowing him to get into space and create with his hands. I still think we're a couple of years early from him being a complete SC beast, but based on the way he is moving out there I think he could be an interesting POD to start the season.

If you got points for how good your vision is with handballs I'd be all over him, freak

Money Shot

As a Carlton supporter I wanted to pick Cripps but considering he has had an interrupted pre season and only played limited minutes in the two games he has played I can't bring my self to do it.

Jimmykidd

so who picked cripps lol.. i did!

do we have to ride it out? i dont usually like to trade out premos in round 1 of all times but he looked awful. also it would allow me to sure up fwd and def lines nicely, especially with the lack of good scoring rookies.

If you picked a premium just to trade him after one week, then you're doing it wrong. Ride it out, Cripps is a star.

King_Robbo

Both are absolute jets however I have Bont infront.
He is an inside beast, similar to Cripps, however he does more on the outside and kicks more goals (averaged 1 a game last year, Cripps 0.5 goals a game).
As I said, you cannot go wrong with either and I love watching both of them play, I just think that Bont is a more rounded player and hence a better SC option

Bont also had a pre-season, so yeah :P

They'll both be stars (in a SC sense), but I wouldn't have started with Cripps. Will be looking at him as an upgrade target though if he drops in price enough.

juzztheball

Bont is really imposing himself on the competition in the early parts of the season. If he could score more than 5 points in his first quarters he'd be averaging 150....
