Just looking for any critiques you might have on this team. I'm not sure whether I need to run quite so deep in the midfield, was thinking I could downgrade a premo to get a premo in the backline as I think SPP will more than likely score better than hibberd.

Justification for the two rucks in the fwd line is simply that I don't like any of the fwd options past Buddy Dahl and Roughy and think this will be the year of the ruck. I figure if one of them isn't working out by Rd 3, I'll trade either Nank or Ryder down to Steele if he ends up killing it (i think his game is suited more to DT than SC but will certainly jump on if im wrong).

Didn't think I'd have to do this but bump. I know there are a lot of very similar teams but most people have got a response at least

I was running a similiar structure in defense but even if all those rookies were named r1 I have my doubts on there job security. 1 extra premium would bolster it.

Love your mids, I can see the appeal in Grundy but I still think Goldy and Gawn will be the best 2 rucks at the end of the year.

Roughy, Ryder and nank are taking 4 of your forwards spot. Imo I don't think any will be top 8 forwards, I don't mind ruck cover so would prob take nank but I can see Ryder and roughie costin ya some points or trades later in the season.

Really solid advice all round thanks mate, I'm gonna have a reshuffle and see what I can do :)

Structure is sound if you are only using 2 prem in defence with 4 rookies - A lot of teams doing this but it is a risk imo as you need 4 out of 6 rookies playing each week.  Also traditionally back rookies are the slowest cash generators.  Something to consider.
Go with gut on which of Ryder and Nank you prefer and downgrade the other.  Then strengthen defence. May mean Bob Murphy is the one you can afford but he would not be the worst. Other option could be Downgrade one of 3 fallen prems to a rookie with solid JS when teams announced. Also if more forward than mid rookies come up you could move Taranto back and bring in a rookie forward. Butler/WHE/Schoenmakers/Houston/Turner/Black are a few to consider.
Do not mind Roughy as he has gone 95+ for the 5 years prior to his year off.  Even if he drops a bit should still average 90 which I would take for F5/6 any day. Your decision though.
Regarding lack of responses and talking from own experience think people see our status as coaches and are a little less inclined to comment. Little do they know that we need a second set of eyes at times as well.  ;)

Roughie & Ryder have every chance of being top 8 forwards. This is the year when rucks & KP players come right into contention. Nank probably not but still could nudge 90 which is perfectly acceptable.

Just to bring some statistical evidence to the table, Roughie's last 5 years have registered 101, 103, 98, 95, 96.

Ryder's last 5 have been 90, 105, 90, 101, 85. Also note in 2015 Ryder spent most of his time playing forward.

Now let's just look at the other contenders.

Franklin - 115, 90, 99, 87, 94.
Riewoldt - 95, 105, 91, 90, 101
Greene - 94, 73, 102, 82, 90
JJK - 56, 90, 79, 92, 97
Lynch - 68, 66, 83, 88, 93

This year is a lottery hence I think it's worth rolling the dice on mid pricers. The only locks are Dahlhaus & Macrae in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback guys :D reli appreciate it. I think you have sold me the other way again :p I have thought it would be the year of the rucks all the way so I'm gonna back them in. If either fwd ruck fails as well I figure I'll sideways to maybe Steele if he is going well at Rd 3. Definitely agree that Roughy is a strong option as well, not like he is coming off an injury and has no history to speak of really apart from obviously the horrible past couple of years. Looked really solid in the pre season as well, enough to make me think he is close to full strength again anyway.

Hadn't thought about the old badge being a deterrent Ringo :p it probly looks intimidating.. sometimes I think the more you post, the more you go around in circles and feedback from anyone is a great way to get some perspective on your team again. I get so lost at times :p
