G'day guys.
I know there are a heap of teams posted on here constantly, so any feedback would be appreciated. I have been reading posts on here for years and taking a lot on board, especially off some of the regular guys. Looking to get involved in some of the discussions and give my personal acumen, for what thats worth. I only play supercoach, of which I had some success, finishing top 200 three years running, but failing last year and finishing about 6,500! Anyways, enough of my self promotion, here is my team. Hopefully you can give me some advice to help me out. Cheers in advance....... The Worms.

BACKS:        Docherty, Adams, Laird, McGrath, Keefe, Hampton (Newman, Ryan)
MIDS:          Hannebery, Treloar, Rockliff, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Swallow, Powell-Pepper, Myers (Hibberd, Clarke, Graham)
RUCKS:        Gawn, Sandilands (Cameron)
FORWARDS: Dalhaus, Macrae, Heeney, Billings, Smedts, Bowes (Pickett, Eddy)

Cash left: $122,800

OPTIONS: Rookies are a wait and see prospect. I like the idea of Smedts, as I feel he will play the majority, but could downgrade him to a rookie and upgrade Sandilands to Martin or Grundy. Think Stef might bounce back (after he finished reasonably strongly last year despite his knee issues) and Grundy is set to increase on the back of his good year last year. Also, I initially had Marchbank in (replaced with Keefe), as I feel he will also play the majority of the year. Am I better going with a rookie and saving the coin for elsewhere? I didnt go with Dangerfield last year, which cost me big time in terms of guaranteed captain choice. Im HOPING that he drops a bit in price, and I can snare him down the track, especially with the coin I have left over. Another option could be to drop Smedts for a rookie, and upgrade Myers to Murphy, who I could hopefully turn in to Dangerfield before his bye.
If you read all this, thanks, and willing to have a ganders at your team and give you whatever advice I can.
Cheers guys

Coming from a Geelong supporter steer clear of Smedts!

If you were wanting to start Sandilands I suggest you get some ruck cover either Ryder of Nanks as Witts showed us today that he can't even compete with Archie Smith. I feel alot better choices in the backline to start with so potentially downgrade Billings and upgrade potentially Mcgrath to anyone really.

Cheers Mattttwillll!
Thanks for the advice. Smedts to Ryder and McGrath to Stewart for now. Waiting to see how Billings goes in the JLT series. Think this might be the year he "breaks out!" If not, Ill downgrade him and upgrade one of my defenders. Still not sure on Sandilands, might swap him to Martin or Grundy.

Yeah I've gone with Ryder now because there isn't too many options up forward (atm I'm considering Higgins and Motlop, So that just shows you haha) Stick with your gut with Billings if thats what you think. it will more than likely make or break a team. Sandi is a funny one. I for one won't start him cause if I have Gawn/Goldy combo with Ryder and either one goes down and Ryder is doing well. I can swap them out and buy whatever in form forward.

Structure is sound.

As I tell all nebies to the sight go with gut when assessing advice as gut is seldom wrong.

My couple of observations:
Docherty had a break out year last year and as a result is highly priced. If he was $530k no problems but do not think he is worth the extra $60k. Have a look at Rance who is a SC God for CD (compared to other comps).
Also you think one of Danger or Pendles in mids as you may be behind the eightball early in relation to top teams.
Keep an eye on any cheap rookies that may surface during the JLT eg Ed Vickers Willis in defence as cheaper rookies rise quicker in cash.

Cheers Ringo.
I may be a little biased being a Carlton supporter, but started with Doc last year and think he, (entering his sixth year) will at least perform as consistently if not better than last year. There were doubts on his kicking prior to last year, but with a DE of 77% that should be alleviated. Rance is one I have been looking at as an upgrade during the season. Could possibly swap the two, and upgrade to Doc instead. Who knows, his price might even drop like you suggest.
I actually think that Treloar might take over the mantle at Collingwood this year from Dependlebury! Very similar stats last year, and with Treloar entering his sixth year, (he only averaged 7 points less last year) surely he can only get better!?
Again, I am hoping Dangerfield doesnt sustain that 131 point average, and drops in price for me. Im expecting less reliance on Danger and Selwood with Duncan, Guthrie, S.Selwood, Motlop and Menegola rotating through the midfield with more consistency.
A lot of ifs, buts and maybes, but you have to take a chance to get ahead of the pack. (Tried this last year and fell flat on my face)
Will do in regards to the cheap rookies. Watching the JLT and EVW looked pretty good. Not so sure about Hibberd (North) now, but will wait till after the preseason games and who gets named come round 1.
Still not confident on my ruck set up, with Sandilands. But at that price...... with no third man up, and if fit, what a bargain. : )

IGOTWORMS (Mach II)

DEFENDERS:          Docherty, Adams, Laird, Hampton, Vickers-Willis, Newman (Ryan, Stewart)
MIDFIELDERS:       Hannebery, Treloar, Rockliff, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Swallow, Powell-Pepper, Myers (Brodie, Fisher, Graham)
RUCKS:                 Gawn, Sandilands (Cameron)
FORWARDS:          Dalhaus, Macrae, Heeney, Ryder, Billings, Bowes (Pickett, Eddy)

Cash left: $6,400
Have back up for Sandilands in Ryder and DPP swap with Cameron.
Still indecisive with rucks. Looking at Martin and Grundy instead of Sandilands.
Went some higher priced rookies to cover players being named come round 1.
POD in Billings. Went Treloar over Pendlebury as I think he may take the mantle at collingwood this year.
Wishful thinking perhaps!! Have my eye on Rance (thanks Ringo) and Jaegar too.

Money Shot

Considering that you don't have either of Danger or Pendles I like this side a lot :)

Deepest forward line I've seen :)

Cheers MS!
The plan is that I upgrade to one or hopefully both of these by years end. If Myers is a concern, I will turn him in to O'Meara or Murphy, with Swallow and the aforementioned being upgraded to Danger and Pendles down the track.
I'm liking the look of Sandilands more and more. Hopefully his calf strain doesn't cause an issue to his round 1 start. With 7 of 9 games at home and 2 in Adelaide early, I would like to think he will not be rested and score well. Plan being for him to rise in price until such time as I identify who the number 2 ruckman is behind Gawn. (Goldy, Grundy, Martin) My cover in ruck being Ryder, in case Sandilands does miss 1 or 2. People forget, that prior to his last season, Ryder was averaging 101, which only dropped to 85 due to sharing ruck duties with Lobbe and spening more time forward in 2015. Doubt that will happen this year and if rested forward, he's kicking goals...... literally! I'm still hopeful that Billings is going to have a big year, as I watched a bit of him last year and he looks pretty good in the preseason so far. (albeit a small sample) Not messing around with mid pricers in the back line, only Guns and rookies as I feel there are heaps of mid priced options in the midfield. Obviously, rookies will be a wait and see approach on both form and who is named come round 1.

After changing my team a zillion times, I left it alone for a couple of weeks and have come up with this set up after watching the JLT games and recent injuries etc. Any feedback would be appreciated. Cheers

DEFENDERS:          Docherty, Adams, Laird, Marchbank, Hampton, M.Hibberd (EVW, Stewart)
MIDFIELDERS:       Hannebery, Treloar, Bontempelli, Fyfe, Beams, M.Murphy, JOM, Powell-Pepper (Barrett, Wigg, Freeman)
RUCKS:                 Gawn, Sandilands (Cameron)
FORWARDS:          Dalhaus, Macrae, Caddy, Nankervis, Bowes, J.Pickett (Black, Eddy)

Cash left: $23,300

Could downgrade Murphy to Swallow and upgrade rookies once named if required. Still like Billings, so possible change from Caddy to him. Danger or Pendles upgrade from Murphy after his bye....... hopefully.
Nankervis gives me back up in the ruck department and I think should represent value at that price as well as scoring 80-85 for me in the interim. Sandilands to be upgraded after his bye to whoever is averaging the most at that point. Dont see him as a keeper with his injury history and possible resting later in the season. Thoughts?

Samsturmfels

1) not having Danger could be very costly
2) I don't like the Murphy pick
other than that i like your team

igotworms

Cheers SSF! Im only using Murphy as a stepping stone to Danger or Pendles. I dont think Danger can continue his 132ppg average, with (in my opinon) the likes of Duncan, Guthrie, S.Selwood, Motlop and Menegola stepping up and rotating through the midfield after the opinion that the teams midfield (2016) are a two man show. (Dangerwood) Thats my plan anyways, and it may backfire spectacularly....... like last year. I could trade out Murphy to Swallow, but I think he Murphy will average 100-105ppg and gain me that $100-$150K to get Danger. (With a rookie downgrade of course)
