First crack for the season.  Don't have much room to move as I only have $2k left, but I tried to make as strong a team as I possibly could.

Any thoughts are more than welcome!

Mr.Craig

Nothing much I can criticise about the mids and rucks, pretty standard fare. Backs obviously a touch weak.

I'm sure rookies are bound to change but I have to suggest maybe avoiding Cox. He only reached 20 disposals twice in his 10 TAC games last year so I wouldn't expect him to be much of a fantasy scorer even if he does get picked Round 1. Also, I'd be surprised to see Marshall pop up early (or at all) this year. At this early stage Florent is looking a better option.

Outside of rookies the only guy that sticks out to me is Caddy. Not certain he'll find enough ball at the Tigers, especially with the inclusion of slutty Prestia. There's not a lot of attractive options around his price I'll admit so it's hard to know who to suggest if you don't have faith in Heeney or Miller lifting their average. But hey, you're the Richmond supporter so if you think it'll work so be it.

Jake Barrett is on Lions rookie list and will need an injury to be promoted,  Know only a rookie but thought I would make you aware.
Also can not Cedric Cox playing round 1 Will be competing with the likes of Ryan harwood, Tom Cutler, Sam Mayes and Claye Beams for position.

Also do not like Caddy but your decision.

Cheers for the rookie advice!  I know it's early and rooks are never locked in place at this stage, but always good to know if there's very little chance some won't play (or at least start the season).

As for Caddy, I'm happy with the selection.  I think he will get more midfield time at the Tigers, which should (in theory) give him a few extra points per game.  Thinking he can average around 90, which will be ok with me.

I downgraded Heppell to Swallow, which I didn't really wanna do, but something had to give seeing as I only had 2K to play with.  I usually go for a pure Guns/Rook strat, but I don't mind having one mid pricer in there, so I'm happy to have Swallow for now.

It doesn't really do much to my structure, but it did mean I could bring in Thurlow to my back line to make that a little bit stronger as it was my weakest line I felt.  It does mean my forwards are my weakest line, but I think the only way to really improve that would be to downgrade Swallow and upgrade one of my expensive forward rookies to a mid priced forward, but that in turn weakens my mids as I would only be going in with 4 premiums to start the year.

Which structure do you guys think is better, Team 1 or Team 2?

Team 1

Team 2

Mr.Craig

I'd take 1 at this stage, all depends on how those fwd rooks perform in the pre season obviously.

Chelskiman

Yeah, I think I like 1 better as well.  Your mids are your engine room, and relying on four rookies for the first few weeks could leave me lagging behind.  I'm not expecting Swallow to be averaging 100 or anything, but a solid 85-90 average would be nice before I upgrade to an uber premium.
