Wait, so a guy who at 27 finally broke out with an average of only 81 after years of 60 and 70 averages, you're all jumping on now after one JLT performance?

And if scores 70 this week? :P

Roberton to bounce back after a bad year. The KPD additions should free him up again, Newnes is a full time midfielder so Robbo will be the main man rebounding out of the back. Handballs aren't his go, and he's one of the most accurate kicks getting around.

Yes he is.
Roberton will benefit by Brown's and Carlisle's additions. He'll be freed up to play as a plus 1 or rebounding kick out of defence. He's shown in the past he scores extremely well in that role and is at a great price this year.

I went down from Docherty to Bob Murphy, but ideally Roberton is the guy I want. I need to shuffle around some players to squeeze him in.

Harris Andrews to be a top 6 defender for the first two months then sidewaysed to Doc/Simmo

My Chumps

Currently only have Macmillian but Hartlett, Martin and Hibbered are tempting

Colley Dogs

Currently running:

Tuohy + Thurlow + Marchbank + Hampton + Otten + Vickers-Willis (Hibberd + Stewart)

(enabling me to run 1 Rookie each on my Midfield and Forward Lines... Tom Mitchell is my M7 & Nankervis is my F5)

After 15 minutes of research, Dylan Roberton actually could be a great pick up.

Carlisle and Brown in, plus Dempster still around to pick up the third tall. Averaged 90 a few seasons ago playing as a running defender, if he could get that up to 95 he'd make for an awesome point of difference.

Has a bit of Pittard 2016 about him, could score nice and consistently with a ton every few weeks. On the watch list for now, see how he gets used in the last JLT game.

Not bothering with any mid defenders

This is the year to go mid price mids and fwds and just go GnR down back

My idea of mid priced is between 300 - 400 K and these are the ones that have burned me in years past so none of them about 470K is as cheap as I will be looking

I don't think there has been a season in the last 5 or so years that the top defender/s haven't dropped significantly in price. This is only my 2nd year in SC, but I've done many years of DT and i can't think of a time where the top priced defenders haven't dropped a tonne of cash. I'm going into the season not paying over 600k for a defender...i say that every year and i don't follow it. Started with Shaw last year and even though he was one of the best defenders easily, he still dropped about 100k at one stage if i remember correctly.

Still have Bob Murphy on watch list as a mid pricer if I revert back to top rucks.
