My Last Defender

I've been looking to upgrade my last defender and based on cash these are the best options...

i can't afford a few, but have the following already;

Shaw
Docherty
Simpson
Laird
Rance

I'm leaning towards McDonald, hasn't had the same season as last year but his past 5 games he is ave. 101.. not having tonned up too much, but seems consistent in the 90's....

would like Bartel/McVeigh but they seem quite up/down....

I have the exact same D1-D5, and are also looking to upgrade DBJ, so I'm very interested to see the result of this!

I really like Jeremy Howe out of this list, he's averaged 103 since Round 7.

All the other options I fear, because they're all older blokes (Jimmy, Mcveigh, Burgs, Gibbo) and hence, more likely to get rested (like Bartel this week)
McDonald I don't like because you already have a KPD in Rance and they can have their off days. Look at his early season form.

Also consider Zac Williams. Easy run home for the Giants and he is killing it!!!

Would take Tmac from those, been in some good form the last month or two, hopefully finishes the season off well!

Do you reckon Marley Williams is gonna return wato? IIRC Howe scored poorly when Marley was in the side, and that's basically the only reason I wouldn't go with him.

Yeah this is true GL.

Wouldn't be surprised to see Macaffer & Smith dropped, Fasolo up forward and either of Williams or Oxley to come back in.

However, although Williams got named in the best on the weekend in the VFL he still lacks the knowledge as to when he should defend and when he can go on the attack. But his saving grace might be that we don't really have a matchup for Lindsay so he is really the only reasonable option for him. Howe reads the play so beautifully and Oxley plays a similiar role so I doubt he comes in despite having a blinder in the VFL.
Hoping, Howe holds his spot as our rebound defender and Williams shuts down the oppositions best small forward. Not, Williams plays small defender and rebounds while Howe takes the third tall. We're such a better team with Marsh taking the 3rd tall, Howe playing loose or on their 6th forward and going this way.

Zac Williams would have been nice but $20k short of grabbing him, and having Boyd also woulda been insane, but i suspect he may get rested before the end of the season possible...

Bartel won't get rested but struggled recently.

I like Howe, but just not sure... being my last pick and his possible chance of a role change or as GoLions said potential other running defenders coming back will he get affected?

I've never really been keen on KPD in SC, but cash restricts me... if it's not TMac then i'll probably lean towards McVeigh as other have voted so far....

Didn't play the first 3 weeks so has only played 13 games and 3 since his bye...just brought him in a couple of weeks back...so really hoping he doesn't need a rest ::)

got joyce m11 and adams and collins d7 and d8. this has enable me to get McVeigh onto mid bench this week.
With Shaw, Simmo, Rance, Laird, Bartel and McVeigh, should I keep adams or dump him before his price drops on his return. I have 3 trades left. Considering Clay Smith via mid DPP and losing my loophole to get a playing mid/fwd loophole. Got to do it this weekand because of players involved need to make decision before tonights game.

Got 93k left so could upgrade adams to a 453k def. But who would I get that would be worth wasting a trade on compared to having Smith in mids?
