Trying to establish best trade for this week. Don't love downgrade options, so considering not trading. Currently, team is

Shaw, rance, Smith, tippa Hartley dbj (laird, brand)

Dangerfield ward pendles Murphy libba ablett Parker j.smith (Hewett dunkley Gresham)

Goldstein nic Nat (lorsch)

Hall wells dalhaus zorko kerridge Martin (brown, petracca)

Obvious upgrades would be

Smith - priddis

Dbj/Hartley - Boyd/Simpson/ docherty

Or sideways trade Smith/Hewett to hopper

Issue is i would need to make a downgrade to make 125k, meaning bringing in a rookie with poor security. Best off skipping a trade this week? 16 trades

Only you know how you want to move forward regarding the structure/strength/weaknesses of your team...

I personally would skip hopper and wait for Hewett/Smith to increase more.

Priddis will still be within reach next week and Gray is likely to stay around 510k.

So either no trades or take a stab in the dark on S.Collins from Freo or B.Williams who everyone is guessing about.

I think your defence looks thin.

Grab one of the Blues?

Lack of value there compared with the mids though... And is it that weak? Laird out obviously weakens it but the other are scoring ok and can be loopholed too...

That being said the other lines are strong and Smith is the obvious one to upgrade to a keeper in the mids, but he has another round or two before he'll be fat enough....

Think if it was me, if Williams is named a downgrade one of Tippa, Brown Harley, or DBJ. Would lean to probably Hartley as DBJ is the most servicable scorer and Brown and Tippa keep the valuable F/D link.

Then either bring in one of the Blues for DBJ or even Tippett for Kerridge. Gives you the ruck coverage that we'll inevitably need. Then I'd jog on one of the Essendon DPP's for the best F/D rookie and then upgrade Smith to Priddis/Gray.

Hope this helps!

What did you end up doing out of curiosity ?

Yeah, agreed. I'd probably go Simmo, but that's because I still haven't forgiven Docherty for leaving :'(

I spent a lot of time evaluating everyone's opinions. Eventually had a look at the byes. Need 10/10/10 or similar structure, have 12/11/7. So 2 blues defenders are out of the question. Have worked out that I would be better off with a full side with solid security for bye rounds. And then using bye trades to upgrade. So I'm going to cling on til byes. In saying that I scored 2485 last week with ablett, laird, hall and wells on the bench. So to fix bye structure I've taken hopper for Gresham (sideways but hopper fits my structure and becomes hannebery prior to round 15), plus the points will be worth it. I intend on Smith to Matheson next week and Collins in the following week. I should be able to field 20 players each week through the byes, more in round 15, and will have all bench players over 300k with any luck, allowing me to Bring in 5 premiums through bye rounds and set up for the year
