Obviously isn't my final team, but can I get some feedback please everyone?

Hoping for a lot of mid-prices to possibly turn into keepers but who knows.

A few tweaks here and there, and you'll be good to go.

For me it's a question of structure. The most common set-up seems to be two premiums on the Forward line in order to afford a premium M5.

My suggestions:

Downgrade two of your four premium Forwards to Wells & B. Kennedy, and upgrade Petracca to Menadue.

Use the cash to upgrade one of the Crouches to an ultra premium such as Pendlebury / Hannebery / Priddis, and in Defence either B.Smith or Lonnergan to Houli / Rance / Laird etc. (if you need more cash, downgrade Harwood to Weitering).

Just some ideas to get better balance in your side.

Good luck for the season.

agree with sonnydark
BAcks are too weak forwards too strong (there are quite a few good rookies in the forward line so you can save some money)
Definitely need another elite in the mids

Too speculative, lots of players in here with hype but not proven. Takes balls to select a few of them so good luck

Thanks a huge bunch guys!
Just came upstairs from watching FoxFooty and saw/heard a few things to help make some changes.

I've swapped the following:

DEF - Brodie Smith + Ryan Harwood = Heath Shaw + Jacob Weitering.
MID - Matt Crouch = Luke Parker.
FWD - Sam Gray + Christian Petracca = Daniel Wells + Connor Menadue.

I've been thinking I could also go Boak or Wines instead of Parker. As well as Corey Ellis over Menadue.
I'm not a huge fan of the 'premium' mids, as I think they won't average much higher than some mid prices, which is why I went with Shaw. Should I take the hit and downgrade Shaw to Houli etc, and get Pendlebury or someone in that mould instead of having Parker?

Edit...

Ended up taking my own advice and swapped Shaw to Docherty, Menadue to C.Ellis then Parker to Pendlebury. I kind of like the look of the team now.
I can't afford a higher priced DEF over Docherty at the moment. I could go a Laird/Simpson/Houli type if I changed Pendlebury to say JP Kennedy or Priddis.

Much improved, mate!

But... without question, I prefer your first edited team (with Shaw) over the one with Docherty (and I'm a Blues supporter who loves Docherty, but you cannot go with Bartel + Docherty + Lonergan. All the good work on your other lines will be undone by this line).

Personally, I'd downgrade one of your three premium Forwards to B. Kennedy. This will give you a ton of cash.

Upgrade Parker to Pendles (although Parker is not a bad move. I love the guy).
Upgrade Lonergan to an ultra-premium (such as Rance / Houli / McDonald / Laird)
Upgrade Ruggles, who is unlikely to play immediately imo, to Dea.

While your team is earning you points, you need your Rookies to generate you cash, otherwise it is all for nought.

Anyway, that's my two cents worth. I think you're angling in on a good team here. Injuries aside, you get what you pay for... Docherty is going to be Docherty; and Shaw is going to be be Shaw.

Good luck for the season!

To me the lack of cheap rookies who are looking like starting R1 means you need to compromise somewhere and you are going so strong in the mids that you are weak on all other lines.

It appears you are missing quite a few of the good rookie options too. Dea, Menadue, Kennedy, Mccarthy just to name a few.
Your cash generation will be well behind and thus likely get overrun from round 7-8 onwards.

Thanks again for the input boys. Will play around with it again!

Most of the rookies aren't locked in, as I'm still awaiting team announcements.
