Then couldn't you achieve the same thing by picking a fwd rookie that's going to play?  You would also get his increased value for trading.  I'm not really into playing the non-playing captain thing, so to me it makes more sense to to have all my players growing in value.

I play the captain loophole so I need someone who isn't playing, but otherwise yes I agree you want as many playing as possible to maximise cash. But usually we don't have rookie rucks who play so realistically instead of a dead rubber R# I've got a dead rubber F8, basically the same thing.
