Can anyone tell me roughly how many participants one would expect to be in this competition?

It was like 24k last year, around that mark.

Last year they had .. 29,054

Sorry MrC, it didn't say there had been a message posted.

That was the final count, so maybe it was around 24k at the start, not sure how many joined along the way?

Haven't they changed it to only 18+ are allowed to play. If so, there is a good chance of less runners this year.

Hahaha 100,000 this year, I think you can still play you just have to email them ? don't know this for sure

Only 15K runners this year. That seems like quite a drop off from previous years.
