Profile:

Ryan had a delayed start to the season after having surgery to address some abdominal and groin pain in mid February, and then spent time in the NEAFL to get match ready. In round 9, his first game back, he was concussed pretty bad in the first quarter, and thus got subbed off, missing the rest of the game, and the next 3 weeks after that. He then came back to score 78 before suffering a minor calf injury, missing the next 2 weeks. Then, returned again for a score of 83 before suffering a hip injury, and missing the rest of the season.

Harwood will be looking forward to a much less injury-riddled 2016, and doing some damage running off half back.

Pros:

Very cheap due to an injury-riddled 2015

Can average 80+

Cons:

Injury prone

Job security

Prediction:

Harwood should be best 22 at the Lions, with Cutler being the only person who would take his place across half back. For me, if he's looking good in the pre-season and gets named round 1, I don't see much of a reason not to start him. Averaged 80 in 2015 taking out the concussion game, and 83 in 2014, so there's no question on his scoring potential. Providing he remains fit, he should act as a good stepping stone to a fallen premium, or even potentially becoming a keeper at D6 himself. I'd be predicting an 80-85 average in 2016.

I think ya just convinced me to downgrade Hurn to Harwood and pocket some cash.

All eyes on Brisbane's Nab matches, if he can stay injury free till then :P

Ringo

Think Claye Beams, Ryan Harwood and Ryan Lester will be competing for 2 positions.  Harwood had the wake up call when dropped to NEAFL and knuckled down and his scoring showed the improvement. If named for Round 1 is a lock.

I don't see Lester taking Harwoods spot tbh, and unfortunately Claye is always injured :'(

Jukes

For my AXVIII side's sake I hope he guns it :3 I reckon if he can stay fit he's a solid low-to-mid 80s average and therefore a pretty good pick-up for your SC sides

And it'll make my trade of Judd and Cross for Harwood, Yeo, and Christensen look even greater ;)

59 games played out of possible 132 home and away games no thanks , he may pay off he may be injured to

Ringo

Not all missed games were because of injury.  Harwood got a little lazy in 2014/15 not valuing his position in the 22.  Was dropped to NEAFL and fought his way back and was going well till injury intervened. Has learnt his lesson well and I do not see him giving up the position to easily.

cortez

Just wondering how this bloke is coning along? Saw he scored 90 something in the first game and unfortunately was washed out on Sunday

Ringo

He is going well - Just the slight concern whether he will make the cit in best 22. In my opinion he is ahead of both Lester and Cutler who is competing with for 2 positions.  I am not a selector.  Claye Beams also add a run in the NEAFL trial game on the weekend so he may also put additional pressure on.

Will be watching our selected NAB3 team as it will be very close to our Rd 1 team given the wash out of NAB2.

cortez

Ok great for that feedback Ringo, currently have him sitting at d4. Currently have more faith in him than Aish

happy i never picked him up. Got stupid Lonergan and Seedsman though.

really hoping i remember to never pick those types again, i say this every year.

GoLions

Yeah, just never really got going this year, didn't get the ball enough, or use it well enough. Will be too expensive to consider next year.
