Hi folks,

I've never posted here but am truly stuck this week. Any suggestions or help will be most appreciated - naturally I intend to contribute in return. Here is my team now:

I have 17 trades remaining and 160k in the bank, and am playing for league.

All week I'd assumed the best way to improve my team would be to add a mid - preferably Ward or Gray. Oliver would be the natural choice to upgrade. The rookies are all still unders and should make a bit more cash, but perhaps not much more. So I could poach, say, Mills or BKen, and take Matho early, and upgrade Oliver to Ward or Gray.

But now with teams out I am tempted to finally burn Menadue - I've held him for so long because I had other things to worry about and I figured if he got a couple of 80s in a row he'd find a way to 300k, but that dream seems distant now. It was similarly inconvenient at the time to trade Weitering. So since I have decent cover this all suggests I could go Oliver down to Matho, and Weitering to Simpson or Menadue to Zorko.

I am inclined to do either: i) Oliver and BKen for Ward and Matho, or ii) Oliver and Menadue for Ward and Matho (at the expense of F/M link!). But I really have no idea.

Any helps is seriously appreciated - thanks in advance!

Weits to Bailey Williams and Mills to Premo Mid?

Welcome to the forum mate, contributing isn't necessary there's plenty around here that just muck around!

If you like Mathieson's chances go that way from Oliver :) I'd be a fan of Mathieson as well but I've been burnt by trading in Tucker after 1 game, and also holding Dunkley and Davis this entire time.

I see the following option for you though:
Oliver -> Hopper (+$120k)
DBJ -> Zorko (via Brown)

It means you need to bench Bennedy or Petracca who have both been scoring well, but I don't think you can avoid an upgrade without making those trades. Also you have to stick with Weitering for the long haul, he's going to play games when fit, so with you going for league wins if he doesn't start generating the coin again just hold him at D7 because you know he has the potential to go 100 and it might come in handy later in the season.

Thanks for the suggestions! I can't bring myself to bring in Williams - the M/D link is nice but I would be amazed to see him line up very often this season.

I think you are right about Weitering PB. I am actually seeing things your way at the moment! I am thinking as well it could be worth trading DBJ -> Hopper (dpp) and Oliver to Ward/Gray. This still means I lose the M/F link with Bken going forward but I am tempted to bring in Ward, who is in my opinion significantly better than Zorko (despite the numbers :P).

A final option would be Brown to Hopper (dpp) and Oliver to Ward/Gray..

Any final thoughts before I pull the trigger?

A final thought.

Why is everyone so keen on getting rid of DBJ ahead oh Weiters???

Brown to Hopper and Oliver to Gray sounds pretty nice to me.  BrinGing in a rookie with reasonable scoring potential and job security and upgrading your mids is helping your scoring potential no end.

Weitering lost 34k last week with his 38 and has a B/e of 120 this week and will bleed further cash so I would look at trading him this way.

Trade Wieitering in the trading room on left hand side sub brown back to defence and then sub Kennedy Forward and trade in Hopper.  $109k cash gain

Then should have enough to still go Olver to Gray if my calaculations are correct with $54k left over.

Hi all,

Thanks for the help last time. Now I'm stuck again  ;D

Here is where I sit today:

I have 13 trades left and 54k

I'm happy with how things are starting to take shape but want to make sure I time my run such that I can get the relevant rookies, i.e., Collins, Trengove, and Jansen.

This makes me think Ruggles to Collins this week is a lock. Next week I will look to trade Smith and either Keays or Hopper down (which hurts a bit!) to Trengove and Jansen. So this gives me scope for one upgrade this week and one next week if I want to make them.

Now I am trying to avoid doing more than those two trades in my mids in the next fortnight, since if I did I'd be burning someone way way underdone. So I am looking at my backs, and think I can probably upgrade DBJ this week, and Adams the next week, probably to Simpson and Rance, maybe Laird. Or I could burn Kerridge and go to Merret/Dusty, but that would hurt a little bit too!

Another background possibility is to upgrade Martin, but I was planning to do that later/last.

Perhaps I am just missing something - any thoughts? :)
