Backs: Hodge, Shaw, Picken, Murphy, Simpson, Newnes, (Hamling, McKenzie)

Mids: Fyfe, Pendles, JPK, Armitage, Ward, Selwood, Rocky, StevieJ, (Dumont, Steele, Lambert)

Ruck: Goldy, Maric, (Read)

Fwds: Gray, Swan, Dusty, Goddard, Dahlhaus, Buddy, (McKernan, Dale)

About 160K in the bank. 3 trades left, not overly worried about leagues this year

Option 1: McKenran -> Knight, StevieJ -> GAJ (Lose my ruck cover)

Option 2: Newnes/Murphy -> Kelly, StevieJ -> GAJ (cant trade Simmo down doesnt raise enough cash)

Will take any other suggestions lads! :)

Thanks in advance!

If you're worried about ruck cover you could go McKernan to Downie via Read and get rid of SJ

yeah true, its a bit of pickle, because then i lose cover for Dahlhaus and Buddy if they go down (Dale isn't cover haha)....ehhh this year

GAJ seems to be out of your reach. I assume you have roughly zero cash if you're considering Newnes to Kelly...
Newnes to Kelly is almost a downgrade, wouldn't go near that trade.

How much cash/trades do you have left?
I'll assume nothing and 4 trades for the sake of my response.

------------------------------------------------------
If I were you:
#1 aim = get StevieJ the flower off the field. He's poo this year. Averaging 80, and around 75 for the past month... useless as M8.
The worst thing is, he's not even that good for cover, would rather Steele than him.
McKernan is at a critical junction, BE of 77 means you either trade him this week or next or keep him for cover for the rest of the season. I would actually keep him as cover though - his DPP with Read is valuable in covering both lines if needed.

------------------------------------------

Hamling --> Goddard frees up 110k which you could use to get Stevie J to one of the following:

Neale: Massive ceiling, premiership contending team - will hopefully bounce back.
Sidebottom: Gun. Has Bulldogs, Carlton and Melbourne next 3, should go large.
Sloane: Return from injury, risky but waaaay underpriced. Best of the lot if he can stay fit.
Lewis: Biggest risk of them all, not sold on him but would get yelled down if i didn't mention his name. Buyer beware.

The biggest benefit of this trade is that you keep Steele & McKernan as cover for Fwd/Ruck/Mids.

--------------------------------------

Another option is to get in big Maxy Gawn. Slots straight into your forwards, averaging 113 and will maintain that DPP with Read. To do this you need roughly 160k, gained by trading Stevie to H Goddard (or similar).

Benefits of this trade:
- DPP cover with Goddard/McKenzie for def/mid.
- DPP cover Gawn/Read for ruck/fwd
- DPP cover with one of Goddard/Dusty/Gray/Swan to replace Stevie in the mids (fwd/mid)
- Steele kept as cover
- Increased scoring of Gawn (110?) over StevieJ (80)
- 130k cash left from trade to use in a final upgrade if needed (provided trades available)

Sorry for the lengthy post, got carried away! You have plenty of options though that's for sure!

Option 1 definitely seems the best. Obviously you've got to hope Maric and Goldstein don't miss another game but with 7 games left that isn't as big of a risk as earlier in the year

Haha don't apologize dude thanks for the massive response!! I do have 160K in the bank so i don't really think he is out of reach, i do like the idea of having a ruck DPP because it allows me to cover mids, ruck, fwd with one player by swinging DPP players around just in case of injury/suspension......that was why i was considering the Newnes->Kelly option.

But yeah number 1 priority is ditching Stevie and preferably replace him with GAJ if i can do so without losing to much.

I've actually decided to roll the dice and NOT get Ablett. Reason being is that GCS are no finals threat, they gain nothing by risking his career by playing him, so if he isn't 100% they could easily rest him, or he might decide to rest himself. While I agree that 17-whatever tackles that he laid was a positive sign, it would require me making 3 trades to bring him in, unless I sacrifice some of my premium cover in another line which isn't ideal. I personally will most likely use up 1 of my trades to bring in Goddard, leaving 3 for the inevitable injury/resting curse that strikes around SC finals time.
Personally i'd rather have 2 premiums on the field than GAJ and a donut, regardless of how well he's going.

Perhaps for you bringing in a premium dpp would be best.
Good luck anyway, whatever you decide!
