I'm usually a very big fan of Premium - Rookies, this year though not a big fan of the back line prems. Been looking at using a mid pricer at D4, or possibly even D3 & D4 if i choose to spend more in the rucks.

Whilst looking at various mid pricers i just wanted to see what people's thoughts of Shane Savage are, very awkwardly priced @ $371K but curious to whether or not he may see some midfield time. Just looking for couple of defenders to plug a hole for now until can see which defensive premiums possibly drop in price

Was very popular in the FanPlanner teams. Will watch his role during NAB

Jackross10

Has always been expected to breakout but never has, still a worthy option imo, I have Lumumba (417k) atm over him

Mantis

Yeh would be awesome to get the defense right early haha reckon it'll be one of the good places to find POD's to. Rucks and Defense is where my risk taking will be this year.

Dayze

No idea on his role. No idea on how the saints backline will look.
Personally think there are quite a few better midpriced defence options.

Most likely it will look something like this:

FB: Sean DEMPSTER - Luke DELANEY - Jarryn GEARY
HB: Shane SAVAGE - Sam FISHER - Jimmy WEBSTER

That is including Gilbert not being ready for round 1.

Doubt that he's a decent pick tbh, just do not see it all coming together for him this year.

Locinator

I have Seedsman over him. I can see Seedsman hitting 85 easy with recent departures of Dale Thomas, Lulumba and Shaw over the past two years. The wing/half back position will be his to lose

fasttrack13

Savage will push onto the wing be apart of that midfield brigade.
Not sure he's in the best 22...

After 8 rounds Shane Savage has had 2 games subbed out with injury causing his price to drop to $317,000. If you take out those injury affected games he is averaging 96! Could he be the perfect trade for lumumba and a possible keeper??

I was looking at him but then realised he has the R12 bye...No chance of me fielding 18 if I pick him up

barlowlove

Yeah bye isn't the best, but I think I'll get to a competitive Rd 12 team through trades in the next couple of weeks, so aside from that?

Ricochet

Bye is the killer at this stage of the year. Especially for me. Have Ibbo, Newnes, Oxley and Saad already back there with the same bye

RaisyDaisy

Hector does look like a decent option for me. Get rid of Lumumba and actually make a profit too

And his bye actually isn't too bad for me

Hmmmmm is it worth it?

Problem I have is that I don't think he will be good enough for a keeper though

PICCOLLO

He scores well, no doubt. I think he'll average 85-90 come years end (excl. injury games) and could be a d5-6 keeper
Bad bye.
Getting injured too much for me.
For those looking for coin, downgrading to him is a sound option.
