Carlton may still get something for Kreuzer, and they should trade Gibbs before he leaves for nothing on FA.

Gibbs signed a 5 year deal last season....

At the end of the season both Murph and Gibbs will have 3 and 4 years respectively left at the club, they aren't the guys you look at trading because you will be paying out their contracts while they play elsewhere. Guys like Hendo, Jamo, Kreuz and a few others have to be looked at because they still hold value and you see what you can get in return.

Yeah forgot about Gibbs.

KPPs spend half their time on a list not being ready. Clubs hate losing them because they invested so heavily. And the problem for Carlton is spots that could be used to develop those guys were wasted on guys like Warrnock. It's an emotional decision but it's a correct one. Kreuz may still get a 1st or 2nd rounder, do it - because there's nothing around him. Just like McEvoy at STK.

We have maybe 5 total KPP's under 25 on our roster (Jaksch, Giles, Head, Jones and Foster) and we only drafted 1 KPP this year. I would be happy to trade all but two or this group of guys over 25 (Hendo, Jamo, Levi, Warnock, Kreuz) as long as we get a good return. The reason we need to keep two of them is out of necessity considering Head will be gone and I would think they get rid of Wood since he is just a waste of space. It would suck to lose them because most of them are good players but a few of them their bodies are stuffed and we need to get some quality players.

Gigantor

Dammit Shiel your inaccuracy has stopped an acceptable game from becoming an exceptional game!

Hold on to Hendo.

You would think so, however he has struggled other then a 5 game stretch under Malthouse with both his body and form. He had the makings of an AA defender under Ratts but out of necessity we pushed him forward. He would be in the same boat as Kreuz where if he is up and running he could be anything but it is getting to the point where we can't get him on the park. He will be 26 at the start of next season and he doesn't seem like the type of guy that will be able to go after 30 so he may have 3 or 4 more years left.

He struggles because he is injured every 3 weeks so he is getting no continuity in his footy. Forget the crappy game plan.

Mick's a premiership coach, Carlton's list wasn't there. It reeks of targeting Pagan because the club was too stubborn to accept where it was.

Sure there's a lot going on - lack of confidence, poor drills and whatnot. But Mick just expects clubs to execute a game plan at a level beyond where they're at.

Mat0369

Pagan is another coach with an outdated game plan.....

BratPack

That was an insipid, pathetic performance.

The players, coaches and all the officials should be bloody ashamed of themselves.

How could you allow this to happen?

How could you perform to such a standard

HOW COULD YOU NOT BEAT THEM BY 100 GWS? I DEMAND SATISFACTION!

who here likes stuff?

I must  :o..I am often told to get it...you know the term.."go and get stuff you fool of a man"

Mailman the 2nd

Carlton just needs to go after every value trade for guys like Henderson that come up. Some clubs would be willing to pay pretty highly for somebody like him.

As for this game, it was just Yarran or bust for moving the ball forward. Malthouse can't adapt a game plan that actually works for these guys, a new (not outdated) coach would go a long way in to making them at least not spoon material.

Mat0369

He also dropped a couple of runners in Boekhorst and Buckley, then Simmo and Walker are out injured so the team just lacks outside run and spread. They showed an interesting stat that we are up the top of the league in both contested possessions and clearances (even with Wood in the ruck) but suck in terms of everything else. It means a couple of things, we have no one to kick to when we do go forward, when they do create a contest it hits the ground and we have no genuine crumbing forwards or forward pressure and then when it comes out our mids are to slow or don't work hard enough so they get burnt on the counter attack.
