Ward's bye is definitely a deal-breaker, otherwise pretty tough to split him and Heppell.

Are you saying deal-breaker in a good or bad way? Cause most top mids have the R12 bye (such as Heppell), whereas Ward is R13

Not convinced that Watson and Heppell are fully fit yet, from a stamina pov, the lack of a full pre-season will take its toll later on, I believe. I'd go with Ward, or Shiel, who probably has a higher ceiling than the others.

Looking to move gray to forwards through lamb to krak (to mids to create link) then upgrading either heeney or Anderson to a premium mid.

Doubt they would have had much gametime anyway. They're older players with years of seasons behind the now, even Heppell. They get their fitness up during the off-season/pre-season training, not the NAB games.
