IMO
Let Saad cover for 3 weeks, Adel, W.Coast, Coll. Then hodge will be back to play the Suns and might be a POD by then.
In the meantime, increase ya point scoring potential on other lines to make up the difference.

You should really ask Holz opinion too.

Best of luck ;)

Disagree.

Holz is shower this year!

Hold!

Why on Earth do people think TRADE TRADE OMG TRADE?!

Considering how bad so many defensive premiums are this year, there's nothing wrong with taking Saad's 80s. It's not like you have a $600k 120ppg premium missing and an average rookie scoring 60s for cover. You can gain so many more points with that trade than a simple 30-45.

dude he is ranked 17th overall it's a bit different

I get what you are saying but im sure there are a few in the top 20 that have him too.
There Would Be Other areas to fix Before him.

The problem I see is that the defender you trade in might score less than Saad most have been rubbish at some stage this year so if you can improve your forward or mids with trades might be the way to go points wise , well done on your rank  ;)

Only 5 of the teams above you have Hodge
3 Have lewis but none have both
Just thought you need to look at what the other sides have, I know their will be teams beneath you that will or won't but at least you could see how many have the same decision as you
Think you would score more from the gray trade
Maybe check too see who above has him to decide whether it will gain you points or negate against losing points too the teams above

Yeah at that rank it's "dir, straight swap him for that total 300k random that's going to jackpot tons this month..."

Well said Ron

Just look at who your competition has (players ahead of you and around you) and then make the best choice you can

Prefer Salem to Gray - Wato talkign a lot of sense.  Those fielding Saad & Oxley in the back line have a huge advantage over everyone who has 1 on the bench this year, as they're able to put the coin to better use elsewhere, yet still get the same avg out of saad/oxley.

Only other option I would give consideration to would be:
Salem - Gray, Hodge - McKenzie.

Risky, but means you are selling Hodge at his peak, not having 550k sitting on your bench for 3 weeks, & you will be banking plenty of cash for the next 2 weeks when plenty of super premo mids are ripening.  You can then go mid fattened cow to Sloane/JPK/Danger/Rockliff etc with 1 trade perhaps.

I think you hold from a defensive point of view.

You are within striking distance where holding Hodge will not kill you.
If you want to be aggressive you should look at upgrading in other areas ie. Mids Fwds Rucks.

Defense is just a guessing game right now.. and some previous premiums in Simpson Malceski will be dropping price.

There is also the MBR coming so you could start planning around that as those three weeks have major swings in terms of rankings.

Jesty

A lot of points if thats what separates the top teams at seasons end.

netterzzzz

got both hodge and lewis (+bennell) and with hodges BE of 150 odd his price is sure to drop and could potentially go under 500k. this being if he still seems like a viable option a few weeks back and your willing to spare a trade or two you can pick him up again at a cheaper price. Up to you though it could be a possibility. good luck!

Check out the teams around you. Uniques are essential.

Hodge to Pittard and net the profits could be an option?

With Saad as cover hold and upgrade the rest of your team at this stage of year, if it was I'd trade.

Think of this way, Saad and Gray on field, vs Pittard and Salem. More points in the first option, plus 1 more total premium in your side when Hodge gets back. If you can replace 2 rookies with 2 premiums on field in the next 3 weeks, 1 this week 1 next, lets say you gain 150 points, Gray makes you 100 over Salem and someone else 50 over two weeks. Saad instead of Hodge loses to 100 to 150 over 3 weeks compares to hodge as Saad is one of the better rookies. You'll have similar points over the next 3 weeks but making an extra upgrade and holding Hodge, maybe lose 50 points. A trade is worth more than that, even when going for overall. You'll finish your team  a week earlier in the long run too. It would be different if there were gun premium defenders but there's no one you can guarantee will go much more than 10-15 points a week better than Saad
