At the moment i have Goodes in my backline and Miller in mids, need to get rid of both but only have 25 k in bank. would love to get VanBerlo in so i think i may take a huge risk at D8 and putting in either:    Schade, Byrne or Kelly to afford Van Berlo, i think at the moment im leaning towards Byrne cause of CArlton new found youth policy. What are peoples thoughts. and if not this who else could i afford with 355 k 1 back 1 mid?

Risky business, I'd be waiting on Whitecross for Goodes, these guys could play 1 game and then be evicted.

so what would i do with Miller? kinda want Vanberlo

I am wanting to grab NVB but will have to pass as I'm trading Goodes down to Oxley and Ablett to Sloane.

Van Berlo will make good $$ but also with the return of Thompson this week it could reduce his output too.

Don't put dead weight on your bench just to get NVB

I presume you have Oxley, McIntosh and Saad.
Would you consider Nathan Brown? Won't score you a lot of course but probably has a lot better job security than the other fellas you mentioned - and will get you the cash you need to take Miller to NVB.

You could get NVB as well if you hold the Ablett trade for a week. Won't lose any cash with Ablett ruled out.

Miller is still named in the team....just leave him.

Let NVB go.

cortez

have Brown too, Goodes was originally d4. Atm Backline is Shaw, Newnes, Higgins Mcintosh, Oxley, Saad (Brown, ???)

This is a good point, Miller doesn't need to score much to make 150k, just a couple of 70's will do the trick.

cortez

that is true especially if they win a couple of games. i might just leave it this week and look at Goodes in a couple of weeks, just hope he gets dropped

FactHunt

Im letting NVB go through to the keeper :'(
1. GAJ trade is a must.
2. I dont trust Goodes' JS (/vest security)- even with Wood out, and Oxley's last round is a juicy enticement for some quick $.
I think NVB is a better prospect than Oxley scoring wise, but for immediate $ and JS Im going with the other.

cortez

thats the thing i dont have GAJ, the only two players i am considering traing at all is Miller and Goodes. I have Cripps too but am happy to keep him because he has only played one game and will play plenty of footy this season.

Why don't you do what I'm doing and go Goodes > Oxley and Ablett > NVB? Then take your pick of any of the premo mids next week. Miller will still go up in price this week so you can always upgrade him and you won't be losing cash from sloane or whoever else you want going up in price and you'll still get the cash from NVB and oxley.

This is a very good option, and one I was considering myself (well, similar). However, if you're going for overall, you don't really want to play a rookie over a superpremium for a round. Plus, Sloane and Fyfe etc are due for price rises themselves! Sure, not as much, but you pay for points, don't you?
