Another  good service at Smithfield for the dawn service rain held off thankfully, numbers were double to that of last year which was great to see. So many youngens attending which always makes me smile. Take a minute today on the 100th anniversary to pause and think about the legend ANZAC and how boys and men from both nations gave rise to it by giving their all in what was an overwhelming defeat by the Turks who lost more of their own and look upon it as one their greatest victories. The day isn't about who won or lost the day for us or for me rather is about the sacrifice the men and women made for their mates and country and what was born of that ultimate sacrifice that now lives in me and you. "Lest we forget"

Well said Grazz - Lest we forget

With the increased attendances everywhere we can hope that National Pride momentum continues. Just think 100 years ago many of the members of this forum would have been volunteering for War service never to return.  A chilling thought

If you ever get the chance to go to Gallipoli do so, I went in 2009 and it was one of the most humbling experiences of my life.

Les we forget.
